וּבָשָׂ֕ר כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֥ה בֽוֹ־בְעֹר֖וֹ שְׁחִ֑ין וְנִרְפָּֽא׃
13:18
When an inflammation appears on the skin of one’s body and it heals,

And when the flesh hath in the skin thereof a boil, and it is healed,

וּבִסְרָא אֲרֵי יְהֵי בֵיהּ בְּמַשְׁכֵּיהּ שִׁחֲנָא וְיִתַּסֵּי:
שחין. לְשׁוֹן חִמּוּם, שֶׁנִּתְחַמֵּם הַבָּשָֹר בְּלִקּוּי הַבָּא לוֹ מֵחֲמַת מַכָּה שֶׁלֹּא מֵחֲמַת הָאוּר (חולין ח'):
ונרפא. הַשְּׁחִין הֶעֱלָה אֲרוּכָה וּבִמְקוֹמוֹ הֶעֱלָה נֶגַע אַחֵר:
י"ג:י"ט
וְהָיָ֞ה בִּמְק֤וֹם הַשְּׁחִין֙ שְׂאֵ֣ת לְבָנָ֔ה א֥וֹ בַהֶ֖רֶת לְבָנָ֣ה אֲדַמְדָּ֑מֶת וְנִרְאָ֖ה אֶל־הַכֹּהֵֽן׃
13:19
and a white swelling or a white discoloration streaked with red develops where the inflammation was, he shall present himself to the priest.

and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to the priest.

וִיהֵי בַּאֲתַר שִׁחֲנָא עַמְקָא חַוְּרָא אוֹ בַהֲרָא חַוְּרָא סַמְקָא וְיִתַּחֲזִי לְכַהֲנָא:
או בהרת לבנה אדמדמת. שֶׁאֵין הַנֶּגַע לָבָן חָלָק, אֶלָּא פָּתוּךְ וּמְעֹרָב בִּשְׁתֵּי מַרְאוֹת — לֹבֶן וְאֹדֶם:
י"ג:כ׳
וְרָאָ֣ה הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְהִנֵּ֤ה מַרְאֶ֙הָ֙ שָׁפָ֣ל מִן־הָע֔וֹר וּשְׂעָרָ֖הּ הָפַ֣ךְ לָבָ֑ן וְטִמְּא֧וֹ הַכֹּהֵ֛ן נֶֽגַע־צָרַ֥עַת הִ֖וא בַּשְּׁחִ֥ין פָּרָֽחָה׃
13:20
If the priest finds that it appears lower than the rest of the skin and that the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a leprous affection that has broken out in the inflammation.
13:20
And the priest shall look; and, behold, if the appearance thereof be lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy, it hath broken out in the boil.

וְיֶחֱזֵי כַהֲנָא וְהָא מֶחֱזָהָא מַכִּיךְ מִן מַשְׁכָּא וּשְׂעָרַהּ אִתְהֲפִיךְ לְמֶחֱוָר וִיסָאֵבִינֵיהּ כַּהֲנָא מַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּתָא הִיא בְּשִׁחֲנָא סְגִיאַת:
מראה שפל. וְאֵין מַמָּשָׁהּ שָׁפָל, אֶלָּא מִתּוֹךְ לַבְנוּנִיתוֹ הוּא נִרְאֶה שָׁפָל וְעָמֹק, כְּמַרְאֵה חַמָּה עֲמֻקָּה מִן הַצֵּל:
י"ג:כ"א
וְאִ֣ם ׀ יִרְאֶ֣נָּה הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֵֽין־בָּהּ֙ שֵׂעָ֣ר לָבָ֔ן וּשְׁפָלָ֥ה אֵינֶ֛נָּה מִן־הָע֖וֹר וְהִ֣יא כֵהָ֑ה וְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃
13:21
But if the priest finds that there is no white hair in it and it is not lower than the rest of the skin, and it is faded, the priest shall isolate him for seven days.
13:21
But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and it be not lower than the skin, but be dim, then the priest shall shut him up seven days.
י"ג:כ"א
וְאִם יֶחֱזִנַּהּ כַּהֲנָא וְהָא לֵית בַּהּ שֵׂעָר חִוָּר וּמַכִּיכָא לֵיתָהָא מִן מַשְׁכָּא וְהִיא עָמְיָא וְיַסְגְּרִנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא שִׁבְעָא יוֹמִין:
י"ג:כ"ב
וְאִם־פָּשֹׂ֥ה תִפְשֶׂ֖ה בָּע֑וֹר וְטִמֵּ֧א הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֹת֖וֹ נֶ֥גַע הִֽוא׃
13:22
If it should spread in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an affection.
13:22
And if it spread abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.
י"ג:כ"ב
וְאִם אוֹסָפָא תוֹסֵף בְּמַשְׁכָּא וִיסָאֵב כַּהֲנָא יָתֵיהּ מַכְתָּשָׁא הִיא:
נגע הוא. הַשְּׂאֵת הַזֹּאת אוֹ הַבַּהֶרֶת:
י"ג:כ"ג
וְאִם־תַּחְתֶּ֜יהָ תַּעֲמֹ֤ד הַבַּהֶ֙רֶת֙ לֹ֣א פָשָׂ֔תָה צָרֶ֥בֶת הַשְּׁחִ֖ין הִ֑וא וְטִהֲר֖וֹ הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (ס)
13:23
But if the discoloration remains stationary, not having spread, it is the scar of the inflammation; the priest shall pronounce him clean.

But if the bright spot stay in its place, and be not spread, it is the scar of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

וְאִם בְּאַתְרָהָא קָמַת בֶּהַרְתָּא לָא אוֹסֵפַת רשֶׁם שִׁחֲנָא הִיא וִידַכִּנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא:
תחתיה. בִּמְקוֹמָהּ:
צרבת השחין. כְּתַרְגּוּמוֹ רֹשֶׁם שִׁחֲנָא; — אֵינוֹ אֶלָּא רֹשֶׁם הַחִמּוּם הַנִּכָּר בַּבָּשָֹר; כָּל צָרֶבֶת לְשׁוֹן רְגִיעַת עוֹר הַנִּרְגָּע מֵחֲמַת חִמּוּם, כְּמוֹ וְנִצְרְבוּ בָהּ כָּל פָּנִים (יחזקאל כ"א), רייטרו"ר בְּלַעַז:
