וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

And the LORD spoke unto Moses saying:

וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר:
ד׳:כ"ב
נָשֹׂ֗א אֶת־רֹ֛אשׁ בְּנֵ֥י גֵרְשׁ֖וֹן גַּם־הֵ֑ם לְבֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָ֖ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
4:22
Take a census of the Gershonites also, by their ancestral house and by their clans.
4:22
’Take the sum of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’houses, by their families;
ד׳:כ"ב
קַבֵּל יָת חֻשְׁבַּן בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן אַף אִנּוּן לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן:
נשא את ראש בני גרשון גם הם. כְּמוֹ שֶׁצִּוִּיתִיךָ עַל בְּנֵי קְהָת, לִרְאוֹת כַּמָּה יֵשׁ שֶׁהִגִּיעוּ לִכְלַל עֲבוֹדָה:
ד׳:כ"ג
מִבֶּן֩ שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים שָׁנָ֜ה וָמַ֗עְלָה עַ֛ד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה תִּפְקֹ֣ד אוֹתָ֑ם כָּל־הַבָּא֙ לִצְבֹ֣א צָבָ֔א לַעֲבֹ֥ד עֲבֹדָ֖ה בְּאֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
4:23
Record them from the age of thirty years up to the age of fifty, all who are subject to service in the performance of tasks for the Tent of Meeting.
4:23
from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them: all that enter in to wait upon the service, to do service in the tent of meeting.
ד׳:כ"ג
מִבַּר תְּלָתִין שְׁנִין וּלְעֵלָּא עַד בַּר חַמְשִׁין שְׁנִין תִּמְנֵי יָתְהוֹן כָּל דְּאָתֵי לְחַיָּלָא חֵילָא לְמִפְלַח פָּלְחָנָא בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא:
ד׳:כ"ד
זֹ֣את עֲבֹדַ֔ת מִשְׁפְּחֹ֖ת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֑י לַעֲבֹ֖ד וּלְמַשָּֽׂא׃

These are the duties of the Gershonite clans as to labor and porterage:

This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:

דֵּין פָּלְחַן זַרְעֲיַת גֵּרְשׁוֹן לְמִפְלַח וּלְמַטּוֹל:
ד׳:כ"ה
וְנָ֨שְׂא֜וּ אֶת־יְרִיעֹ֤ת הַמִּשְׁכָּן֙ וְאֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד מִכְסֵ֕הוּ וּמִכְסֵ֛ה הַתַּ֥חַשׁ אֲשֶׁר־עָלָ֖יו מִלְמָ֑עְלָה וְאֶ֨ת־מָסַ֔ךְ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
4:25
they shall carry the cloths of the Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting with its covering, the covering of dolphin skin that is on top of it, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting;
4:25
they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tent of meeting, its covering, and the covering of sealskin that is above upon it, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting;

וְיִטְּלוּן יָת יְרִיעַת מַשְׁכְּנָא וְיָת מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא חוֹפָאֵיהּ וְחוֹפָאָה דְסַסְגּוֹנָא דִּי עֲלוֹהִי מִלְּעֵלָּא וְיָת פְּרָסָא דִּתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא:
את יריעת המשכן. עֶשֶׂר תַּחְתּוֹנוֹת:
ואת אהל מועד. יְרִיעֹת עִזִּים הָעֲשׂוּיוֹת לְאֹהֶל עָלָיו:
מכסהו. עוֹרוֹת אֵילִים מְאָדָּמִים:
מסך פתח. וִילוֹן הַמִּזְרָחִי:
ד׳:כ"ו
וְאֵת֩ קַלְעֵ֨י הֶֽחָצֵ֜ר וְאֶת־מָסַ֣ךְ ׀ פֶּ֣תַח ׀ שַׁ֣עַר הֶחָצֵ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־הַמִּשְׁכָּ֤ן וְעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ סָבִ֔יב וְאֵת֙ מֵֽיתְרֵיהֶ֔ם וְאֶֽת־כָּל־כְּלֵ֖י עֲבֹדָתָ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֧ר יֵעָשֶׂ֛ה לָהֶ֖ם וְעָבָֽדוּ׃
4:26
the hangings of the enclosure, the screen at the entrance of the gate of the enclosure that surrounds the Tabernacle, the cords thereof, and the altar, and all their service equipment and all their accessories; and they shall perform the service.

and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatsoever there may be to do with them, therein shall they serve.
ד׳:כ"ו
וְיָת סְרָדֵי דַרְתָּא וְיָת פְּרָסָא דְמַעֲלָנָא דִּתְרַע דַּרְתָּא דִּי עַל מַשְׁכְּנָא וְעַל מַדְבְּחָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְיָת אַטּוּנֵיהוֹן וְיָת כָּל מָנֵי פָּלְחַנְהוֹן וְיָת כָּל דִּי יִתְמְסַר לְהוֹן וְיִפְלְחוּן:
אשר על המשכן. כְּלוֹמַר הַקְּלָעִים וְהַמָּסָךְ שֶׁל חָצֵר, הַסּוֹכְכִים וּמְגִנִּים עַל הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְעַל מִזְבַּח הַנְּחֹשֶׁת סָבִיב:
ואת כל אשר יעשה להם. כְּתַרְגּוּמוֹ "וְיָת כָּל דִּי יִתְּמְסַר לְהוֹן" — לִבְנֵי גֵּרְשׁוֹן:
ד׳:כ"ז
עַל־פִּי֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן וּבָנָ֜יו תִּהְיֶ֗ה כָּל־עֲבֹדַת֙ בְּנֵ֣י הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֔י לְכָל־מַשָּׂאָ֔ם וּלְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדָתָ֑ם וּפְקַדְתֶּ֤ם עֲלֵהֶם֙ בְּמִשְׁמֶ֔רֶת אֵ֖ת כָּל־מַשָּׂאָֽם׃
4:27
All the duties of the Gershonites, all their porterage and all their service, shall be performed on orders from Aaron and his sons; you shall make them responsible for attending to all their porterage.
4:27
At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden, and in all their service; and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burden.
ד׳:כ"ז
עַל מֵימַר אַהֲרֹן וּבְנוֹהִי יְהֵי כָּל פָּלְחַן בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן לְכָל מַטּוּלְהוֹן וּלְכֹל פָּלְחַנְהוֹן וּתְמַנּוּן עֲלֵיהוֹן בְּמַטְּרָא יָת כָּל מַטּוּלְהוֹן:
על פי אהרון ובניו. וְאֵיזֶה מֵהַבָּנִים מְמֻנֶּה עֲלֵיהֶם? ביד איתמר בן אהרון הכהן:
ד׳:כ"ח
זֹ֣את עֲבֹדַ֗ת מִשְׁפְּחֹ֛ת בְּנֵ֥י הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֖י בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וּמִ֨שְׁמַרְתָּ֔ם בְּיַד֙ אִֽיתָמָ֔ר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹ֖ן הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (פ)
4:28
Those are the duties of the Gershonite clans for the Tent of Meeting; they shall attend to them under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
4:28
This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting; and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
ד׳:כ"ח
דֵּין פָּלְחַן זַרְעֲיַת בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא וּמַטַּרְתְּהוֹן בִּידָא דְאִיתָמָר בַּר אַהֲרֹן כַּהֲנָא:
ד׳:כ"ט
בְּנֵ֖י מְרָרִ֑י לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֥ם לְבֵית־אֲבֹתָ֖ם תִּפְקֹ֥ד אֹתָֽם׃

As for the Merarites, you shall record them by the clans of their ancestral house;

As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them by their families, by their fathers’houses;
ד׳:כ"ט
בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן תִּמְנֵי יָתְהוֹן:
ד׳:ל׳
מִבֶּן֩ שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים שָׁנָ֜ה וָמַ֗עְלָה וְעַ֛ד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה תִּפְקְדֵ֑ם כָּל־הַבָּא֙ לַצָּבָ֔א לַעֲבֹ֕ד אֶת־עֲבֹדַ֖ת אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
4:30

מִבַּר תְּלָתִין שְׁנִין וּלְעֵלָּא וְעַד בַּר חַמְשִׁין שְׁנִין תִּמְנִנּוּן כָּל דְּאָתֵי לְחֵילָא לְמִפְלַח יָת פָּלְחַן מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא:
ד׳:ל"א
וְזֹאת֙ מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת מַשָּׂאָ֔ם לְכָל־עֲבֹדָתָ֖ם בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד קַרְשֵׁי֙ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן וּבְרִיחָ֖יו וְעַמּוּדָ֥יו וַאֲדָנָֽיו׃
4:31
These are their porterage tasks in connection with their various duties for the Tent of Meeting: the planks, the bars, the posts, and the sockets of the Tabernacle;
4:31
And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof;
ד׳:ל"א
וְדָא מַטְּרַת מַטּוּלְהוֹן לְכָל פָּלְחַנְהוֹן בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא דַּפֵּי מַשְׁכְּנָא וְעַבְרוֹהִי וְעַמּוּדוֹהִי וְסַמְכוֹהִי:
ד׳:ל"ב
וְעַמּוּדֵי֩ הֶחָצֵ֨ר סָבִ֜יב וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֗ם וִֽיתֵדֹתָם֙ וּמֵ֣יתְרֵיהֶ֔ם לְכָל־כְּלֵיהֶ֔ם וּלְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדָתָ֑ם וּבְשֵׁמֹ֣ת תִּפְקְד֔וּ אֶת־כְּלֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת מַשָּׂאָֽם׃
4:32
the posts around the enclosure and their sockets, pegs, and cords—all these furnishings and their service: you shall list by name the objects that are their porterage tasks.

and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, even all their appurtenance, and all that pertaineth to their service; and by name ye shall appoint the instruments of the charge of their burden.

וְעַמּוּדֵי דְדַרְתָּא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְסַמְכֵיהוֹן וְסִכֵּיהוֹן וְאַטּוּנֵיהוֹן לְכָל מָנֵיהוֹן וּלְכֹל פָּלְחַנְהוֹן וּבִשְׁמָהָן תְּמַנּוּן יָת מָנֵי מַטְּרַת מַטּוּלְהוֹן:
ויתדתם ומיתריהם. שֶׁל עַמּוּדִים; שֶׁהֲרֵי יִתְדוֹת וּמֵיתְרֵי הַקְּלָעִים בְּמַשָּׂא בְנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן הָיוּ, וִיתֵדוֹת וּמֵיתָרִים הָיוּ לַיְרִיעוֹת וְלַקְּלָעִים מִלְּמַטָּה, שֶׁלֹּא תַגְבִּיהֵם הָרוּחַ, וִיתֵדוֹת וּמֵיתָרִים הָיוּ לָעַמּוּדִים סָבִיב לִתְלוֹת בָּהֶם הַקְּלָעִים בִּשְׂפָתָם הָעֶלְיוֹנָה בִּכְלוּנְסוֹת וְקוּנְדָּסִין, כְּמוֹ שֶׁשְּׁנוּיָה בִמְלֶאכֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן:
ד׳:ל"ג
זֹ֣את עֲבֹדַ֗ת מִשְׁפְּחֹת֙ בְּנֵ֣י מְרָרִ֔י לְכָל־עֲבֹדָתָ֖ם בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד בְּיַד֙ אִֽיתָמָ֔ר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹ֖ן הַכֹּהֵֽן׃
4:33
Those are the duties of the Merarite clans, pertaining to their various duties in the Tent of Meeting under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
4:33
This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tent of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.’

דֵּין פָּלְחַן זַרְעֲיַת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְכָל פָּלְחַנְהוֹן בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא בִּידָא דְאִיתָמָר בַּר אַהֲרֹן כַּהֲנָא:
ד׳:ל"ד
וַיִּפְקֹ֨ד מֹשֶׁ֧ה וְאַהֲרֹ֛ן וּנְשִׂיאֵ֥י הָעֵדָ֖ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י הַקְּהָתִ֑י לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם וּלְבֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָֽם׃
4:34
So Moses, Aaron, and the chieftains of the community recorded the Kohathites by the clans of their ancestral house,

And Moses and Aaron and the princes of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by their fathers’houses,

וּמְנָא משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וְרַבְרְבֵי כְנִשְׁתָּא יָת בְּנֵי קְהָת לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן וּלְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן:
ד׳:ל"ה
מִבֶּ֨ן שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה וְעַ֖ד בֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה כָּל־הַבָּא֙ לַצָּבָ֔א לַעֲבֹדָ֖ה בְּאֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
4:35

מִבַּר תְּלָתִין שְׁנִין וּלְעֵלָּא וְעַד בַּר חַמְשִׁין שְׁנִין כָּל דְּאָתֵי לְחֵילָא לְפָלְחָנָא בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא:
ד׳:ל"ו
וַיִּהְי֥וּ פְקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם אַלְפַּ֕יִם שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וַחֲמִשִּֽׁים׃
4:36
Those recorded by their clans came to 2,750.

And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty.

וַהֲווֹ מְנְיָנֵיהוֹן לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן תְּרֵין אַלְפִין שְׁבַע מְאָה וְחַמְשִׁין:
ד׳:ל"ז
אֵ֤לֶּה פְקוּדֵי֙ מִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת הַקְּהָתִ֔י כָּל־הָעֹבֵ֖ד בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד אֲשֶׁ֨ר פָּקַ֤ד מֹשֶׁה֙ וְאַהֲרֹ֔ן עַל־פִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ (ס)
4:37
That was the enrollment of the Kohathite clans, all those who performed duties relating to the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron recorded at the command of the LORD through Moses.

These are they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, of all that did serve in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. .

אִלֵּין מִנְיָנֵי זַרְעֲיַת קְהָת כָּל דְּפָלַח בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא דִּי מְנָא משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ בִּידָא דְמשֶׁה:
