וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל רְא֛וּ קָרָ֥א יְהוָ֖ה בְּשֵׁ֑ם בְּצַלְאֵ֛ל בֶּן־אוּרִ֥י בֶן־ח֖וּר לְמַטֵּ֥ה יְהוּדָֽה׃
35:30
And Moses said to the Israelites: See, the LORD has singled out by name Bezalel, son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

And Moses said unto the children of Israel: ‘See, the LORD hath called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

וַאֲמַר משֶׁה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל חֲזוֹ דְּרַבִּי יְיָ בְּשׁוּם בְּצַלְאֵל בַּר אוּרִי בַר חוּר לְשִׁבְטָא דִיהוּדָה:
חור. בְּנָהּ שֶׁל מִרְיָם הָיָה:

וַיְמַלֵּ֥א אֹת֖וֹ ר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֑ים בְּחָכְמָ֛ה בִּתְבוּנָ֥ה וּבְדַ֖עַת וּבְכָל־מְלָאכָֽה׃
35:31
He has endowed him with a divine spirit of skill, ability, and knowledge in every kind of craft
35:31
And He hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.

וְאַשְׁלֵם עִמֵּיהּ רוּחַ נְבוּאָה מִן קֳדָם יְיָ בְּחָכְמְתָא בְּסוּכְלְתָנוּ וּבְמַדַּע וּבְכָל עִבִידָא:

וְלַחְשֹׁ֖ב מַֽחַשָׁבֹ֑ת לַעֲשֹׂ֛ת בַּזָּהָ֥ב וּבַכֶּ֖סֶף וּבַנְּחֹֽשֶׁת׃
35:32
and cMoved up from v. 34 for clarity.has inspired him-c to make designs for work in gold, silver, and copper,

And to devise skilful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

וּלְאַלָּפָא אוּמַנְוָן לְמֶעְבַּד בְּדַהֲבָא וּבְכַסְפָּא וּבִנְחָשָׁא:

וּבַחֲרֹ֥שֶׁת אֶ֛בֶן לְמַלֹּ֖את וּבַחֲרֹ֣שֶׁת עֵ֑ץ לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת בְּכָל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת מַחֲשָֽׁבֶת׃
35:33
to cut stones for setting and to carve wood—to work in every kind of designer’s craft—

and in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all manner of skilful workmanship.

וּבְאוּמָנוּת אֶבֶן טָבָא לְאַשְׁלָמָא וּבְנַגָּרוּת אָעָא לְמֶעְבַּד בְּכָל עִבִידַת אוּמַנְוָן:

וּלְהוֹרֹ֖ת נָתַ֣ן בְּלִבּ֑וֹ ה֕וּא וְאָֽהֳלִיאָ֥ב בֶּן־אֲחִיסָמָ֖ךְ לְמַטֵּה־דָֽן׃
35:34
and to give directions. He and Oholiab son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan

And He hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

וּלְאַלָּפָא יְהַב בְּלִבֵּיהּ הוּא וְאָהֳלִיאָב בַּר אֲחִיסָמָךְ לְשִׁבְטָא דְדָן:
ואהליאב. מִשֵּׁבֶט דָּן מִן הַיְרוּדִין שֶׁבַּשְּׁבָטִים – מִבְּנֵי הַשְּׁפָחוֹת – וְהִשְׁוָהוּ הַמָּקוֹם לִבְצַלְאֵל לִמְלֶאכֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְהוּא מִגְּדוֹלֵי הַשְּׁבָטִים, לְקַיֵּם מַה שֶּׁנֶּ' וְלֹא נִכַּר שׁוֹעַ לִפְנֵי דָל (איוב ל"ד):

מִלֵּ֨א אֹתָ֜ם חָכְמַת־לֵ֗ב לַעֲשׂוֹת֮ כָּל־מְלֶ֣אכֶת חָרָ֣שׁ ׀ וְחֹשֵׁב֒ וְרֹקֵ֞ם בַּתְּכֵ֣לֶת וּבָֽאַרְגָּמָ֗ן בְּתוֹלַ֧עַת הַשָּׁנִ֛י וּבַשֵּׁ֖שׁ וְאֹרֵ֑ג עֹשֵׂי֙ כָּל־מְלָאכָ֔ה וְחֹשְׁבֵ֖י מַחֲשָׁבֹֽת׃
35:35
have been endowed with the skill to do any work—of the carver, the designer, the embroiderer in blue, purple, crimson yarns, and in fine linen, and of the weaver—as workers in all crafts and as makers of designs.

Them hath He filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of workmanship, of the craftsman, and of the skilful workman, and of the weaver in colours, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any workmanship, and of those that devise skilful works.

אַשְׁלֵם עִמְּהוֹן חַכִּימוּת לִבָּא לְמֶעְבַּד כָּל עִבִידַת נַגָּר וְאָמָּן וְצַיָּר בְּתִכְלָא וּבְאַרְגְּוָנָא בִּצְבַע זְהוֹרִי וּבְבוּצָא וּמַחֵי עָבְדֵי כָּל עִבִידָא וּמַלְפֵי אוּמַנְוָן:
ל"ו:א׳
וְעָשָׂה֩ בְצַלְאֵ֨ל וְאָהֳלִיאָ֜ב וְכֹ֣ל ׀ אִ֣ישׁ חֲכַם־לֵ֗ב אֲשֶׁר֩ נָתַ֨ן יְהוָ֜ה חָכְמָ֤ה וּתְבוּנָה֙ בָּהֵ֔מָּה לָדַ֣עַת לַעֲשֹׂ֔ת אֶֽת־כָּל־מְלֶ֖אכֶת עֲבֹדַ֣ת הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ לְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֖ה יְהוָֽה׃
36:1
Let, then, Bezalel and Oholiab and all the skilled persons whom the LORD has endowed with skill and ability to perform expertly all the tasks connected with the service of the sanctuary carry out all that the LORD has commanded.
36:1
And Bezalel and Oholiab shall work, and every wise-hearted man, in whom the LORD hath put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD hath commanded.’

וַעֲבַד בְּצַלְאֵל וְאָהֳלִיאָב וְכָל גְּבַר חַכִּים לִבָּא דִּיהַב יְיָ חָכְמָא וְסוּכְלְתָנוּתָא בְּהוֹן לְמִדַּע לְמֶעְבַּד יָת כָּל עִבִידַת פָּלְחַן קוּדְשָׁא לְכֹל דִּי פַּקֵּד יְיָ:
ל"ו:ב׳
וַיִּקְרָ֣א מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֶל־בְּצַלְאֵ֘ל וְאֶל־אָֽהֳלִיאָב֒ וְאֶל֙ כָּל־אִ֣ישׁ חֲכַם־לֵ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה חָכְמָ֖ה בְּלִבּ֑וֹ כֹּ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר נְשָׂא֣וֹ לִבּ֔וֹ לְקָרְבָ֥ה אֶל־הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת אֹתָֽהּ׃
36:2
Moses then called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every skilled person whom the LORD had endowed with skill, everyone who excelled in ability, to undertake the task and carry it out.
36:2
And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it.

וּקְרָא משֶׁה לִבְצַלְאֵל וּלְאָהֳלִיאָב וּלְכָל גְּבַר חַכִּים לִבָּא דִּיהַב יְיָ חָכְמְתָא בְּלִבֵּיהּ כָּל דְּאִתְרְעֵי לִבֵּיהּ לְמִקְרַב לְעִבִדְתָּא לְמֶעְבַּד יָתֵיהּ:
ל"ו:ג׳
וַיִּקְח֞וּ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֵ֤ת כָּל־הַתְּרוּמָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵבִ֜יאוּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לִמְלֶ֛אכֶת עֲבֹדַ֥ת הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ לַעֲשֹׂ֣ת אֹתָ֑הּ וְ֠הֵם הֵבִ֨יאוּ אֵלָ֥יו ע֛וֹד נְדָבָ֖ה בַּבֹּ֥קֶר בַּבֹּֽקֶר׃
36:3
They took over from Moses all the gifts that the Israelites had brought, to carry out the tasks connected with the service of the sanctuary. But when these continued to bring freewill offerings to him morning after morning,

And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, wherewith to make it. And they brought yet unto him freewill-offerings every morning.

וּנְסִיבוּ מִן קֳדָם משֶׁה יָת כָּל אַפְרָשׁוּתָא דִּי אַיְתִיאוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְעִבִידַת פָּלְחַן קוּדְשָׁא לְמֶעְבַּד יָתַהּ וְאִנּוּן מַיְתַן לֵיהּ עוֹד נְדַבְתָּא בִּצְפַר בִּצְפָר:
ל"ו:ד׳
וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ כָּל־הַ֣חֲכָמִ֔ים הָעֹשִׂ֕ים אֵ֖ת כָּל־מְלֶ֣אכֶת הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ אִֽישׁ־אִ֥ישׁ מִמְּלַאכְתּ֖וֹ אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֥מָּה עֹשִֽׂים׃
36:4
all the artisans who were engaged in the tasks of the sanctuary came, each from the task upon which he was engaged,
36:4
And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they wrought.
ל"ו:ד׳
וַאֲתוֹ כָּל חַכִּימַיָּא דְּעָבְדִין יָת כָּל עִבִידַת קוּדְשָׁא גְּבַר גְּבַר מֵעִבִדְתֵּיהּ דְּאִנּוּן עָבְדִין:
ל"ו:ה׳
וַיֹּאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֣ה לֵּאמֹ֔ר מַרְבִּ֥ים הָעָ֖ם לְהָבִ֑יא מִדֵּ֤י הָֽעֲבֹדָה֙ לַמְּלָאכָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת אֹתָֽהּ׃
36:5
and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than is needed for the tasks entailed in the work that the LORD has commanded to be done.”
36:5
And they spoke unto Moses, saying: ‘The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.’

וַאֲמָרוּ לְמשֶׁה לְמֵימַר מַסְגַּן עַמָּא לְאַיְתָאָה מִסַּת פָּלְחָנָא לְעִבִדְתָּא דְּפַקֵּד יְיָ לְמֶעְבַּד יָתַהּ:
מדי העבדה. יוֹתֵר מִכְּדֵי צֹרֶךְ הָעֲבוֹדָה:
ל"ו:ו׳
וַיְצַ֣ו מֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיַּעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֥וֹל בַּֽמַּחֲנֶה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ אִ֣ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֗ה אַל־יַעֲשׂוּ־ע֛וֹד מְלָאכָ֖ה לִתְרוּמַ֣ת הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ וַיִּכָּלֵ֥א הָעָ֖ם מֵהָבִֽיא׃
36:6
Moses thereupon had this proclamation made throughout the camp: “Let no man or woman make further effort toward gifts for the sanctuary!” So the people stopped bringing:
36:6
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying: ‘Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.’ So the people were restrained from bringing.
ל"ו:ו׳
וּפַקֵּד משֶׁה וְאַעֲבַרוּ כָרוֹזָא בְמַשְׁרִיתָא לְמֵימַר גְּבַר וְאִתְּתָא לָא יַעַבְדוּן עוֹד עִבִדְתָּא לְאַפְרָשׁוּת קוּדְשָׁא וּפְסַק עַמָּא מִלְּאַיְתָאָה:
ל"ו:ז׳
וְהַמְּלָאכָ֗ה הָיְתָ֥ה דַיָּ֛ם לְכָל־הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת אֹתָ֑הּ וְהוֹתֵֽר׃ (ס)
36:7
their efforts had been more than enough for all the tasks to be done.
36:7
For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
ל"ו:ז׳
וְעִבִדְתָּא הֲוַת מִסַּת לְכָל עִבִדְתָּא לְמֶעְבַּד יָתַהּ וִיתָרָת:
והמלאכה היתה דים לכל המלאכה. וּמְלֶאכֶת הַהֲבָאָה הָיְתָה דַיָּם שֶׁל עוֹשֵׂי הַמִּשְׁכָּן, לְכָל הַמְּלָאכָה שֶׁל מִשְׁכָּן, לַעֲשׂוֹת אוֹתָהּ וּלְהוֹתֵר:
והותר. כְּמוֹ וְהַכְבֵּד אֶת לִבּוֹ (שמות ח'), וְהַכּוֹת אֶת מוֹאָב (מלכים ב ג'):
