ח׳:ז׳
וְסָר֣וּ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֗ים מִמְּךָ֙ וּמִבָּ֣תֶּ֔יךָ וּמֵעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ וּמֵעַמֶּ֑ךָ רַ֥ק בַּיְאֹ֖ר תִּשָּׁאַֽרְנָה׃
8:7
the frogs shall retreat from you and your courtiers and your people; they shall remain only in the Nile.”

And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.’

וְיֶעְדּוּן עֻרְדְּעָנַיָּא מִנָּךְ וּמִבָּתָּיךְ וּמֵעַבְדָּיךְ וּמֵעַמָּךְ לְחוֹד בְּנַהֲרָא יִשְׁתָּאָרָן:

וַיֵּצֵ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה וְאַהֲרֹ֖ן מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיִּצְעַ֤ק מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה עַל־דְּבַ֥ר הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֥ם לְפַרְעֹֽה׃

Then Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh’s presence, and Moses cried out to the LORD in the matter of the frogs which He had inflicted upon Pharaoh.

And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh; and Moses cried unto the LORD concerning the frogs, which He had brought upon Pharaoh.

וּנְפַק משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן מִלְּוָת פַּרְעֹה וְצַלִּי משֶׁה קֳדָם יְיָ עַל עֵסַק עֻרְדְּעָנַיָּא דִּי שַׁוִּי לְפַרְעֹה:
ויצא, ויצעק. מִיָּד, שֶׁיִּכָּרְתוּ לְמָחָר:

וַיַּ֥עַשׂ יְהוָ֖ה כִּדְבַ֣ר מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיָּמֻ֙תוּ֙ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֔ים מִן־הַבָּתִּ֥ים מִן־הַחֲצֵרֹ֖ת וּמִן־הַשָּׂדֹֽת׃

And the LORD did as Moses asked; the frogs died out in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields.

And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

וַעֲבַד יְיָ כְּפִתְגָּמָא דְמשֶׁה וּמִיתוּ עֻרְדְּעָנַיָּא מִן בָּתַּיָּא מִן דָּרָתָא וּמִן חַקְלָתָא:

וַיִּצְבְּר֥וּ אֹתָ֖ם חֳמָרִ֣ם חֳמָרִ֑ם וַתִּבְאַ֖שׁ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
8:10
And they piled them up in heaps, till the land stank.

ח׳:י׳
וּכְנָשׁוּ יָתְהוֹן דְּגוֹרִין דְּגוֹרִין וּסְרִיאוּ עַל אַרְעָא:
חמרם חמרם. צִבּוּרִים צִבּוּרִים, כְּתַרְגּוּמוֹ, דְּגוֹרִין – גַּלִּין:

וַיַּ֣רְא פַּרְעֹ֗ה כִּ֤י הָֽיְתָה֙ הָֽרְוָחָ֔ה וְהַכְבֵּד֙ אֶת־לִבּ֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ (ס)

But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he became stubborn and would not heed them, as the LORD had spoken.

But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken.

וַחֲזָא פַרְעֹה אֲרֵי הֲוַת רְוַחְתָּא וְיִתְיַקַּר יָת לִבֵּיהּ וְלָא קַבִּיל מִנְּהוֹן כְּמָא דִּמַלִּיל יְיָ:
והכבד את לבו. לְשׁוֹן פָּעוֹל הוּא, כְּמוֹ "הָלוֹךְ וְנָסוֹעַ" (בראשית י"ב), וְכֵן "וְהַכּוֹת אֶת מוֹאָב" (מלכים ב ג׳:כ״ד), "וְשָׁאוֹל לוֹ בֵאלֹהִים" (שמואל א כ״ב:י״ג), "הַכֵּה וּפָצֹעַ" (מלכים א כ'):
כאשר דבר ה'. וְהֵיכָן דִּבֵּר? וְלֹא יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיכֶם פַּרְעֹה:

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ אֱמֹר֙ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן נְטֵ֣ה אֶֽת־מַטְּךָ֔ וְהַ֖ךְ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֑רֶץ וְהָיָ֥ה לְכִנִּ֖ם בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
8:12
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Say to Aaron: Hold out your rod and strike the dust of the earth, and it shall turn to lice throughout the land of Egypt.”

And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Say unto Aaron: Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the earth, that it may become gnats throughout all the land of Egypt.’
ח׳:י"ב
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה אֱמַר לְאַהֲרֹן אֲרֵים יָת חֻטְרָךְ וּמְחָא יָת עַפְרָא דְאַרְעָא וִיהֵא לְקַלְמְתָא בְּכָל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם:
אמר אל אהרן. לֹא הָיָה הֶעָפָר כְּדַאי לִלְקוֹת עַ"יְ מֹשֶׁה, לְפִי שֶׁהֵגֵן עָלָיו כְּשֶׁהָרַג אֶת הַמִּצְרִי וַיִּטְמְנֵהוּ בַּחוֹל, וְלָקָה עַל יְדֵי אַהֲרֹן (שמות רבה):

וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֗ן וַיֵּט֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן אֶת־יָד֤וֹ בְמַטֵּ֙הוּ֙ וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֔רֶץ וַתְּהִי֙ הַכִּנָּ֔ם בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה כָּל־עֲפַ֥ר הָאָ֛רֶץ הָיָ֥ה כִנִּ֖ים בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
8:13
And they did so. Aaron held out his arm with the rod and struck the dust of the earth, and vermin came upon man and beast; all the dust of the earth turned to lice throughout the land of Egypt.

And they did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and there were gnats upon man, and upon beast; all the dust of the earth became gnats throughout all the land of Egypt.
ח׳:י"ג
וַעֲבָדוּ כֵן וַאֲרֵים אַהֲרֹן יָת יְדֵיהּ בְּחֻטְרֵיהּ וּמְחָא יָת עַפְרָא דְאַרְעָא וַהֲוַת קַלְמְתָא בַּאֲנָשָׁא וּבִבְעִירָא כָּל עַפְרָא דְאַרְעָא הֲוַת קַלְמְתָא בְּכָל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם:
ותהי הכנם. הָרְחִישָׁה, פדוליר"א בְּלַעַז:
ח׳:י"ד
וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֨ן הַחַרְטֻמִּ֧ים בְּלָטֵיהֶ֛ם לְהוֹצִ֥יא אֶת־הַכִּנִּ֖ים וְלֹ֣א יָכֹ֑לוּ וַתְּהִי֙ הַכִּנָּ֔ם בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃
8:14
The magicians did the like with their spells to produce lice, but they could not. The vermin remained upon man and beast;

And the magicians did so with their secret arts to bring forth gnats, but they could not; and there were gnats upon man, and upon beast.
ח׳:י"ד
וַעֲבָדוּ כֵן חָרָשַׁיָּא בְּלַחֲשֵׁיהוֹן לְאַפָּקָא יָת קַלְמְתָא וְלָא יָכִילוּ וַהֲוַת קַלְמְתָא בַּאֲנָשָׁא וּבִבְעִירָא:
להוציא את הכנים. לִבְרֹאתָם וּלְהוֹצִיאָם מִמָּקוֹם אַחֵר:
ולא יכלו. שֶׁאֵין הַשֵּׁד שׁוֹלֵט עַל בְּרִיָּה פְּחוּתָה מִכַּשְּׂעוֹרָה (סנהדרין ס"ז):

וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ הַֽחַרְטֻמִּים֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה אֶצְבַּ֥ע אֱלֹהִ֖ים הִ֑וא וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק לֵב־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְלֹֽא־שָׁמַ֣ע אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ (ס)
8:15
and the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God!” But Pharaoh’s heart stiffened and he would not heed them, as the LORD had spoken.

Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh: ‘This is the finger of God’; and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken.
ח׳:ט"ו
וַאֲמָרוּ חָרָשַׁיָּא לְפַרְעֹה הָא מָחָא מִן קֳדָם יְיָ הִיא וְאִתַּקַּף לִבָּא דְפַרְעֹה וְלָא קַבִּיל מִנְּהוֹן כְּמָא דִּמַלִּיל יְיָ:
אצבע אלהים הוא. מַכָּה זוֹ אֵינָהּ עַל יְדֵי כְשָׁפִים, מֵאֵת הַמָּקוֹם הִיא (שמות רבה):
כאשר דבר ה'. וְלֹא יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיכֶם פַּרְעֹה:
ח׳:ט"ז
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הַשְׁכֵּ֤ם בַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ וְהִתְיַצֵּב֙ לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה הִנֵּ֖ה יוֹצֵ֣א הַמָּ֑יְמָה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שַׁלַּ֥ח עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃
8:16
And the LORD said to Moses, “Early in the morning present yourself to Pharaoh, as he is coming out to the water, and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD: Let My people go that they may worship Me.

And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him: Thus saith the LORD: Let My people go, that they may serve Me.
ח׳:ט"ז
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה אַקְדֵּם בְּצַפְרָא וְאִתְעַתַּד קֳדָם פַּרְעֹה הָא נָפֵק לְמַיָּא וְתֵימַר לֵיהּ כִּדְנַן אֲמַר יְיָ שַׁלַּח עַמִּי וְיִפְלְחוּן קֳדָמָי:
ח׳:י"ז
כִּ֣י אִם־אֵינְךָ֮ מְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ אֶת־עַמִּי֒ הִנְנִי֩ מַשְׁלִ֨יחַ בְּךָ֜ וּבַעֲבָדֶ֧יךָ וּֽבְעַמְּךָ֛ וּבְבָתֶּ֖יךָ אֶת־הֶעָרֹ֑ב וּמָ֨לְא֜וּ בָּתֵּ֤י מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶת־הֶ֣עָרֹ֔ב וְגַ֥ם הָאֲדָמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֥ם עָלֶֽיהָ׃
8:17
For if you do not let My people go, I will let loose aOthers “wild beasts.”swarms of insects-a against you and your courtiers and your people and your houses; the houses of the Egyptians, and the very ground they stand on, shall be filled with swarms of insects.

Else, if thou wilt not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses; and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
ח׳:י"ז
אֲרֵי אִם לֵיתָךְ מְשַׁלַּח יָת עַמִּי הָא אֲנָא מַשְׁלַח בָּךְ וּבְעַבְדָּיךְ וּבְעַמָּךְ וּבְבָתָּיךְ יָת עָרוֹבָא וְיִמְלוּן בָּתֵּי מִצְרַיִם יָת עָרוֹבָא וְאַף אַרְעָא דִּאִנּוּן עֲלַהּ:
משליח בך. מְגָרֶה בְךָ, וְכֵן "וְשֶׁן בְּהֵמוֹת אֲשַׁלַּח בָּם" (דברים ל"ב), לְשׁוֹן שִׁסּוּי, אינציט"ר בְּלַעַז:
את הערב. כָּל מִינֵי הַחַיּוֹת רָעוֹת וּנְחָשִׁים וְעַקְרַבִּים בְּעִרְבּוּבְיָא, וְהָיוּ מַשְׁחִיתִים בָּהֶם; וְיֵשׁ טַעַם בַּדָּבָר בָּאַגָּדָה בְּכָל מַכָּה וּמַכָּה לָמָּה זוֹ וְלָמָּה זוֹ; בְּטַכְסִיסֵי מִלְחֲמוֹת מְלָכִים בָּא עֲלֵיהֶם, כְּסֵדֶר מַלְכוּת כְּשֶׁצָּרָה עַל עִיר, בַּתְּחִלָּה מְקַלְקֵל מַעְיְנוֹתֶיהָ, וְאַחַר כָּךְ תּוֹקְעִין עֲלֵיהֶם וּמְרִיעִין בַּשּׁוֹפָרוֹת לְיָרְאָם וּלְבַהֲלָם, וְכֵן הַצְפַרְדְּעִים מְקַרְקְרִים וְהוֹמִים וְכוּ', כִּדְאִיתָא בְּמִדְרַשׁ רַבִּי תַּנְחוּמָא (פ' בא):

וְהִפְלֵיתִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ גֹּ֗שֶׁן אֲשֶׁ֤ר עַמִּי֙ עֹמֵ֣ד עָלֶ֔יהָ לְבִלְתִּ֥י הֱיֽוֹת־שָׁ֖ם עָרֹ֑ב לְמַ֣עַן תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
8:18
But on that day I will set apart the region of Goshen, where My people dwell, so that no swarms of insects shall be there, that you may know that I the LORD am in the midst of the land.

And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end that thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

וְאַפְרֵשׁ בְּיוֹמָא הַהוּא יָת אַרְעָא דְגשֶׁן דִּעַמִּי קָאִים עֲלַהּ בְּדִיל דְּלָא לְמֶהֱוֵי תַמָּן עָרוֹבָא בְּדִיל דְּתִדַּע אֲרֵי אֲנָא יְיָ שַׁלִּיט בְּגוֹ אַרְעָא:
והפליתי. וְהִפְרַשְׁתִּי, וְכֵן "וְהִפְלָה ה'" (שמות ט'), וְכֵן "לֹא נִפְלֵאת הִיא מִמְּךָ" (דברים ל') – לֹא מֻבְדֶּלֶת וּמֻפְרֶשֶׁת הִיא מִמְּךָ:
למען תדע כי אני ה' בקרב הארץ. אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁשְּׁכִינָתִי בַּשָּׁמַיִם גְּזֵרָתִי מִתְקַיֶּמֶת בַּתַּחְתּוֹנִים:
