י"ג:מ׳ וְאִ֕ישׁ כִּ֥י יִמָּרֵ֖ט רֹאשׁ֑וֹ קֵרֵ֥חַ ה֖וּא טָה֥וֹר הֽוּא׃

13:40 If a man loses the hair of his head and becomes bald, he is clean.

13:40 And if a man’s hair be fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.

י"ג:מ׳ וּגְבַר אֲרֵי יַתַּר שְׂעַר רֵישֵׁיהּ קְרַח הוּא דְּכֵי הוּא:

קרח הוא טהור הוא. טָהוֹר מִטֻּמְאַת נְתָקִין, שֶׁאֵינוֹ נִדּוֹן בְּסִימָנֵי רֹאשׁ וְזָקָן שֶׁהֵם מְקוֹם שֵׂעָר, אֶלָּא בְסִימָנֵי נֶגַע עוֹר בָּשָׂר — (בְּשֵֹעָר לָבָן) וּמִחְיָה וּפִשְׂיוֹן (נגעים פ"י):

י"ג:מ"א וְאִם֙ מִפְּאַ֣ת פָּנָ֔יו יִמָּרֵ֖ט רֹאשׁ֑וֹ גִּבֵּ֥חַ ה֖וּא טָה֥וֹר הֽוּא׃

13:41 If he loses the hair on the front part of his head and becomes bald at the forehead, he is clean.

13:41 And if his hair be fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead-bald; yet is he clean.

י"ג:מ"א וְאִם מִלָּקֳבֵל אֲפּוֹהִי יַתַּר שְׂעַר רֵישֵׁיהּ גְּלוֹשׁ הוּא דְּכֵי הוּא:

ואם מפאת פניו. מִשִּׁפּוּעַ קָדְקֹד כְּלַפֵּי פָנָיו קָרוּי גַּבַּחַת — וְאַף הַצְּדָעִין שֶׁמִּכָּאן וּמִכָּאן בִּכְלָל — וּמִשִּׁפּוּעַ קָדְקֹד כְּלַפֵּי אֲחוֹרָיו קָרוּי קָרַחַת:

י"ג:מ"ב וְכִֽי־יִהְיֶ֤ה בַקָּרַ֙חַת֙ א֣וֹ בַגַּבַּ֔חַת נֶ֖גַע לָבָ֣ן אֲדַמְדָּ֑ם צָרַ֤עַת פֹּרַ֙חַת֙ הִ֔וא בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ א֥וֹ בְגַבַּחְתּֽוֹ׃

13:42 But if a white affection streaked with red appears on the bald part in the front or at the back of the head, it is a scaly eruption that is spreading over the bald part in the front or at the back of the head.

13:42 But if there be in the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague, it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

י"ג:מ"ב וַאֲרֵי יְהֵי בְקָרָחוּתֵיהּ אוֹ בִגְלוֹשׁוּתֵיהּ מַכְתַּשׁ חִוָּר סַמּוֹק סְגִירוּת סָגְיָא הִיא בְּקָרָחוּתֵיהּ אוֹ בִגְלוֹשׁוּתֵיהּ:

נגע לבן אדמדם. פָּתוּךְ; מִנַּיִן שְׁאָר הַמַּרְאוֹת? תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר נֶגַע:

י"ג:מ"ג וְרָאָ֨ה אֹת֜וֹ הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְהִנֵּ֤ה שְׂאֵת־הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ לְבָנָ֣ה אֲדַמְדֶּ֔מֶת בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ א֣וֹ בְגַבַּחְתּ֑וֹ כְּמַרְאֵ֥ה צָרַ֖עַת ע֥וֹר בָּשָֽׂר׃

13:43 The priest shall examine him: if the swollen affection on the bald part in the front or at the back of his head is white streaked with red, like the leprosy of body skin in appearance,

13:43 Then the priest shall look upon him; and, behold, if the rising of the plague be reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the flesh,

י"ג:מ"ג וְיֶחֱזֵי יָתֵיהּ כַּהֲנָא וְהָא עַמִּיק מַכְתָּשָׁא חַוְּרָא סַמְּקָא בְּקָרָחוּתֵיהּ אוֹ בִגְלוֹשׁוּתֵיהּ כְּמֶחֱזֵי סְגִירוּתָא מְשַׁךְ בִּסְרָא:

כמראה צרעת עור בשר. כְּמַרְאֵה הַצָּרַעַת הָאָמוּר בְּפָרָשַׁת "עוֹר בָּשָׂר" — אָדָם כִּי יִהְיֶה בְעוֹר בְּשָׂרוֹ, וּמָה אָמוּר בּוֹ? שֶׁמְּטַמֵּא בְאַרְבַּע מַרְאוֹת, וְנִדּוֹן בִּשְׁנֵי שָׁבוּעוֹת; וְלֹא כְמַרְאֵה צָרַעַת הָאָמוּר בִּשְׁחִין וּמִכְוָה שֶׁהוּא נִדּוֹן בְּשָׁבוּעַ אֶחָד, וְלֹא כְמַרְאֵה נְתָקִין שֶׁל מְקוֹם שֵׂעָר, שֶׁאֵין מְטַמְּאִין בְּאַרְבַּע מַרְאוֹת — שְׂאֵת וְתוֹלַדְתָּהּ, בַּהֶרֶת וְתוֹלַדְתָּהּ:

י"ג:מ"ד אִישׁ־צָר֥וּעַ ה֖וּא טָמֵ֣א ה֑וּא טַמֵּ֧א יְטַמְּאֶ֛נּוּ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן בְּרֹאשׁ֥וֹ נִגְעֽוֹ׃

13:44 the man is leprous; he is unclean. The priest shall pronounce him unclean; he has the affection on his head.

13:44 he is a leprous man, he is unclean; the priest shall surely pronounce him unclean: his plague is in his head. .

י"ג:מ"ד גְּבַר סְגִיר הוּא מְסָאָב הוּא סָאֳבָא יְסָאֵבִנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא בְּרֵישֵׁיהּ מַכְתָּשֵׁיהּ:

בראשו נגעו. אֵין לִי אֶלָּא נְתָקִין, מִנַּיִן לְרַבּוֹת שְׁאָר הַמְנֻגָּעִים? תַּ"ל "טַמֵּא יְטַמְּאֶנּוּ", לְרַבּוֹת אֶת כֻּלָּן — עַל כֻּלָּן הוּא אוֹמֵר בְּגָדָיו יִהְיוּ פְרֻמִים וְגוֹ':

י"ג:מ"ה וְהַצָּר֜וּעַ אֲשֶׁר־בּ֣וֹ הַנֶּ֗גַע בְּגָדָ֞יו יִהְי֤וּ פְרֻמִים֙ וְרֹאשׁוֹ֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה פָר֔וּעַ וְעַל־שָׂפָ֖ם יַעְטֶ֑ה וְטָמֵ֥א ׀ טָמֵ֖א יִקְרָֽא׃

13:45 As for the person with a leprous affection, his clothes shall be rent, his head shall be left bare,eSee note at 10.6. and he shall cover over his upper lip; and he shall call out, “Unclean! Unclean!”

13:45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and the hair of his head shall go loose, and he shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry: ‘Unclean, unclean.’

י"ג:מ"ה וּסְגִירָא דִּי בֵיהּ מַכְתָּשָׁא לְבוּשׁוֹהִי יְהוֹן מְבַזְּעִין וְרֵישֵׁיהּ יְהֵי פְרִיעַ וְעַל שָׂפָם כַּאֲבֵלָא יִתְעַטָּף וְלָא תִסְתַּאֲבוּן וְלָא תִסְתַּאֲבוּן יִקְרֵי:

פרמים. קְרוּעִים:

פרוע. מְגֻדַּל שֵׂעָר:

ועל שפם יעטה. כְּאָבֵל:

שפם. שְׂעַר הַשְּׂפָתַיִם, גרנו"ן בְּלַעַז:

וטמא טמא יקרא. מַשְׁמִיעַ שֶׁהוּא טָמֵא וְיִפְרְשׁוּ מִמֶּנּוּ (ספרא, מועד קטן ה'):

י"ג:מ"ו כָּל־יְמֵ֞י אֲשֶׁ֨ר הַנֶּ֥גַע בּ֛וֹ יִטְמָ֖א טָמֵ֣א ה֑וּא בָּדָ֣ד יֵשֵׁ֔ב מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה מוֹשָׁבֽוֹ׃ (ס)

13:46 He shall be unclean as long as the disease is on him. Being unclean, he shall dwell apart; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.

13:46 All the days wherein the plague is in him he shall be unclean; he is unclean; he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his dwelling be.

י"ג:מ"ו כָּל יוֹמֵי דִּי מַכְתָּשָׁא בֵיהּ יְהֵי מְסָאָב מְסָאָב הוּא בִּלְחוֹדוֹהִי יֵיתֵב מִבָּרָא לְמַשְׁרִיתָא מוֹתְבֵיהּ:

בדד ישב. שֶׁלֹּא יִהְיוּ טְמֵאִים יוֹשְׁבִין עִמּוֹ; וְאָמְרוּ רַבּוֹתֵינוּ מַה נִּשְׁתַּנָּה מִשְּׁאָר טְמֵאִים לֵישֵׁב בָּדָד? הוֹאִיל וְהוּא הִבְדִּיל בְּלָשׁוֹן הָרָע בֵּין אִישׁ לְאִשְׁתּוֹ וּבֵין אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ, אַף הוּא יִבָּדֵל (ערכין ט"ז):

מחוץ למחנה. חוּץ לְשָׁלוֹשׁ מַחֲנוֹת:

י"ג:מ"ז וְהַבֶּ֕גֶד כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֥ה ב֖וֹ נֶ֣גַע צָרָ֑עַת בְּבֶ֣גֶד צֶ֔מֶר א֖וֹ בְּבֶ֥גֶד פִּשְׁתִּֽים׃

13:47 When an eruptive affection occurs in a cloth of wool or linen fabric,

13:47 And when the plague of leprosy is in a garment, whether it be a woolen garment, or a linen garment;

י"ג:מ"ז וּלְבוּשָׁא אֲרֵי יְהֵי בֵיהּ מַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּ בִּלְבוּשׁ עֲמַר אוֹ בִּלְבוּשׁ כִּתָּן:

י"ג:מ"ח א֤וֹ בִֽשְׁתִי֙ א֣וֹ בְעֵ֔רֶב לַפִּשְׁתִּ֖ים וְלַצָּ֑מֶר א֣וֹ בְע֔וֹר א֖וֹ בְּכָל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת עֽוֹר׃

13:48 in the warp or in the woof of the linen or the wool, or in a skin or in anything made of skin;

13:48 or in the warp, or in the woof, whether they be of linen, or of wool; or in a skin, or in any thing made of skin.

י"ג:מ"ח אוֹ בְשִׁתְיָא אוֹ בְעַרְבָא לְכִתָּנָא וּלְעַמְרָא אוֹ בְמַשְׁכָּא אוֹ בְּכָל עֲבִידַת מְשָׁךְ:

לפשתים ולצמר. שֶׁל פִּשְׁתִּים אוֹ שֶׁל צֶמֶר:

או בעור. זֶה עוֹר שֶׁלֹא נַעֲשָׂה בוֹ מְלָאכָה:

או בכל מלאכת עור. זֶה עוֹר שֶׁנַּעֲשָׂה בוֹ מְלָאכָה:

י"ג:מ"ט וְהָיָ֨ה הַנֶּ֜גַע יְרַקְרַ֣ק ׀ א֣וֹ אֲדַמְדָּ֗ם בַּבֶּגֶד֩ א֨וֹ בָע֜וֹר אֽוֹ־בַשְּׁתִ֤י אוֹ־בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ א֣וֹ בְכָל־כְּלִי־ע֔וֹר נֶ֥גַע צָרַ֖עַת ה֑וּא וְהָרְאָ֖ה אֶת־הַכֹּהֵֽן׃

13:49 if the affection in the cloth or the skin, in the warp or the woof, or in any article of skin, is streaky greenfOr “yellow.” or red, it is an eruptive affection. It shall be shown to the priest;

13:49 If the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin, it is the plague of leprosy, and shall be shown unto the priest.

י"ג:מ"ט וִיהֵי מַכְתָּשָׁא יָרוֹק אוֹ סַמּוֹק בִּלְבוּשָׁא אוֹ בְמַשְׁכָּא אוֹ בְשִׁתְיָא אוֹ בְעַרְבָא אוֹ בְכָל מַאן דִּמְשַׁךְ מַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּתָא הוּא וְיִתַּחֲזֵי לְכַהֲנָא:

ירקרק. יָרֹק שֶׁבַּיְרֻקִּין:

אדמדם. אָדֹם שֶׁבָּאֲדֻמִּים:

י"ג:נ׳ וְרָאָ֥ה הַכֹּהֵ֖ן אֶת־הַנָּ֑גַע וְהִסְגִּ֥יר אֶת־הַנֶּ֖גַע שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃

13:50 and the priest, after examining the affection, shall isolate the affected article for seven days.

13:50 And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up that which hath the plague seven days.

י"ג:נ׳ וְיֶחֱזֵי כַהֲנָא יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא וְיַסְגַּר יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא שִׁבְעַת יוֹמִין:

י"ג:נ"א וְרָאָ֨ה אֶת־הַנֶּ֜גַע בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י כִּֽי־פָשָׂ֤ה הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ בַּ֠בֶּגֶד אֽוֹ־בַשְּׁתִ֤י אֽוֹ־בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ א֣וֹ בָע֔וֹר לְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה הָע֖וֹר לִמְלָאכָ֑ה צָרַ֧עַת מַמְאֶ֛רֶת הַנֶּ֖גַע טָמֵ֥א הֽוּא׃

13:51 On the seventh day he shall examine the affection: if the affection has spread in the cloth—whether in the warp or the woof, or in the skin, for whatever purpose the skin may be used—the affection is a malignant eruption; it is unclean.

13:51 And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever service skin is used for, the plague is a malignant leprosy: it is unclean.

י"ג:נ"א וְיֶחֱזֵי יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא בְּיוֹמָא שְׁבִיעָאָה אֲרֵי אוֹסֵף מַכְתָּשָׁא בִּלְבוּשָׁא אוֹ בְשִׁתְיָא אוֹ בְעַרְבָא אוֹ בְמַשְׁכָּא לְכֹל דִּי יִתְעֲבֵד מַשְׁכָּא לְעִבִידָא סְגִירוּת מְחַסְרָא מַכְתָּשָׁא מְסָאָב הוּא:

צרעת ממארת. לְשׁוֹן סִלּוֹן מַמְאִיר (יחזקאל כ"ח), פויי"נט בְּלַעַז; וּמִדְרָשׁוֹ: תֵּן בּוֹ מְאֵרָה שֶׁלֹא תֵהָנֶה הֵימֶנּוּ (ספרא):

י"ג:נ"ב וְשָׂרַ֨ף אֶת־הַבֶּ֜גֶד א֥וֹ אֶֽת־הַשְּׁתִ֣י ׀ א֣וֹ אֶת־הָעֵ֗רֶב בַּצֶּ֙מֶר֙ א֣וֹ בַפִּשְׁתִּ֔ים א֚וֹ אֶת־כָּל־כְּלִ֣י הָע֔וֹר אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶ֥ה ב֖וֹ הַנָּ֑גַע כִּֽי־צָרַ֤עַת מַמְאֶ֙רֶת֙ הִ֔וא בָּאֵ֖שׁ תִּשָּׂרֵֽף׃

13:52 The cloth—whether warp or woof in wool or linen, or any article of skin—in which the affection is found, shall be burned, for it is a malignant eruption; it shall be consumed in fire.

13:52 And he shall burn the garment, or the warp, or the woof, whether it be of wool or of linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is; for it is a malignant leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.

י"ג:נ"ב וְיוֹקִיד יָת לְבוּשָׁא אוֹ יָת שִׁתְיָא אוֹ יָת עַרְבָא בְּעַמְרָא אוֹ בְכִתָּנָא אוֹ יָת כָּל מָאן דִּמְשַׁךְ דִּי יְהֵי בֵיהּ מַכְתָּשָׁא אֲרֵי סְגִירוּת מְחַסְרָא הִיא בְּנוּרָא תִּתּוֹקָד:

בצמר או בפשתים. שֶׁל צֶמֶר אוֹ שֶׁל פִּשְׁתִּים, זֶהוּ פְשׁוּטוֹ; וּמִדְרָשׁוֹ: יָכוֹל יָבִיא גִּזֵּי צֶמֶר וַאֲנִיצֵי פִשְׁתָּן וְיִשְׂרְפֵם עִמּוֹ? תַּ"ל "הוּא" באש תשרף — אֵינָהּ צְרִיכָה דָבָר אַחֵר עִמָּהּ, אִם כֵּן מַה תַּ"ל "בַּצֶּמֶר אוֹ בַפִּשְׁתִּים"? לְהוֹצִיא אֶת הָאֻמְרִיּוֹת שֶׁבּוֹ שֶׁהֵן מִמִּין אַחֵר; אֻמְרִיּוֹת לְשׁוֹן שָׂפָה, כְּמוֹ אִימְרָא (ספרא):

י"ג:נ"ג וְאִם֮ יִרְאֶ֣ה הַכֹּהֵן֒ וְהִנֵּה֙ לֹא־פָשָׂ֣ה הַנֶּ֔גַע בַּבֶּ֕גֶד א֥וֹ בַשְּׁתִ֖י א֣וֹ בָעֵ֑רֶב א֖וֹ בְּכָל־כְּלִי־עֽוֹר׃

13:53 But if the priest sees that the affection in the cloth—whether in warp or in woof, or in any article of skin—has not spread,

13:53 And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;

י"ג:נ"ג וְאִם יֶחֱזֵי כַהֲנָא וְהָא לָא אוֹסֵף מַכְתָּשָׁא בִּלְבוּשָׁא אוֹ בְשִׁתְיָא אוֹ בְעַרְבָא אוֹ בְּכָל מָאן דִּמְשָׁךְ:

י"ג:נ"ד וְצִוָּה֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְכִ֨בְּס֔וּ אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־בּ֖וֹ הַנָּ֑גַע וְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹ שִׁבְעַת־יָמִ֖ים שֵׁנִֽית׃

13:54 the priest shall order the affected article washed, and he shall isolate it for another seven days.

13:54 then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more.

י"ג:נ"ד וִיפַקֵּד כַּהֲנָא וִיחַוְּרוּן יָת דִּי בֵיהּ מַכְתָּשָׁא וְיַסְגְּרִנֵּיהּ שִׁבְעַת יוֹמִין תִּנְיָנוּת:

את אשר בו הנגע. יָכוֹל מְקוֹם הַנֶּגַע בִּלְבַד, תַּ"ל "אֵת אֲשֶׁר בּוֹ הַנָּגַע", יָכוֹל כָּל הַבֶּגֶד כֻּלּוֹ טָעוּן כִּבּוּס, תַּ"ל "הַנָּגַע", הָא כֵיצַד? יְכַבֵּס מִן הַבֶּגֶד עִמּוֹ:

י"ג:נ"ה וְרָאָ֨ה הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אַחֲרֵ֣י ׀ הֻכַּבֵּ֣ס אֶת־הַנֶּ֗גַע וְ֠הִנֵּה לֹֽא־הָפַ֨ךְ הַנֶּ֤גַע אֶת־עֵינוֹ֙ וְהַנֶּ֣גַע לֹֽא־פָשָׂ֔ה טָמֵ֣א ה֔וּא בָּאֵ֖שׁ תִּשְׂרְפֶ֑נּוּ פְּחֶ֣תֶת הִ֔וא בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ א֥וֹ בְגַבַּחְתּֽוֹ׃

13:55 And if, after the affected article has been washed, the priest sees that the affection has not changed color and that it has not spread, it is unclean. It shall be consumed in fire; it is a fret,gMeaning of Heb. peḥetheth uncertain. whether on its inner side or on its outer side.

13:55 And the priest shall look, after that the plague is washed; and, behold, if the plague have not changed its colour, and the plague be not spread, it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is a fret, whether the bareness be within or without.

י"ג:נ"ה וְיֶחֱזֵי כַהֲנָא בָּתַר דְּחַוָּרוּ יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא וְהָא לָא שְׁנָא מַכְתָּשָׁא מִן כַּד הֲוָה וּמַכְתָּשָׁא לָא אוֹסֵף מְסָאָב הוּא בְּנוּרָא תּוֹקְדִנֵּיהּ תַּבְרָא הִיא בְּשְׁחִיקוּתֵיהּ אוֹ בְחַדָּתוּתֵיהּ:

אחרי הכבס. לְשׁוֹן הֵעָשׂוֹת:

לא הפך הנגע את עינו. לֹא הָכְהָה מִמַּרְאִיתוֹ:

והנגע לא פשה. שָׁמַעְנוּ שֶׁאִם לֹא הָפַךְ וְלֹא פָשָׂה טָמֵא — וְאֵין צָרִיךְ לוֹמַר לֹא הָפַךְ וּפָשָׂה — הָפַךְ וְלֹא פָשָׂה אֵינִי יוֹדֵעַ מַה יֵּעָשֶׂה לוֹ, תַּ"ל "וְהִסְגִּיר אֶת הַנֶּגַע" — מִכָּל מָקוֹם, דִּבְרֵי רַ' יְהוּדָה, וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים וְכוּ', כִּדְאִיתָא בְת"כֹּ, וּרְמַזְתִּיהָ כָּאן לְיַשֵּׁב הַמִּקְרָא עַל אָפְנָיו:

פחתת הוא. לְשׁוֹן גֻּמָּא, כְּמוֹ בְּאַחַת הַפְּחָתִים (שמואל ב י"ז), כְּלוֹמַר שְׁפֵלָה הִיא — נֶגַע שֶׁמַּרְאָיו שׁוֹקְעִין (ספרא):

בקרחתו או בגבחתו. כְּתַרְגּוּמוֹ בִּשְׁחִיקוּתֵהּ אוֹ בְחַדָּתוּתֵהּ:

קרחתו. שְׁחָקִים, יְשָׁנִים; וּמִפְּנֵי הַמִּדְרָשׁ שֶׁהֻצְרַךְ לִגְזֵרָה שָׁוָה — מִנַּיִן לִפְרִיחָה בַבְּגָדִים שֶׁהִיא טְהוֹרָה? נֶאֶמְרָה קָרַחַת וְגַבַּחַת בָּאָדָם, וְנֶאֶמְרָה קָרַחַת וְגַבַּחַת בַּבְּגָדִים, מַה לְּהַלָּן פָּרַח בְּכֻלּוֹ טָהוֹר אַף כָּאן פָּרַח בְּכֻלּוֹ טָהוֹר — לְכָךְ אָחַז הַכָּתוּב לְשׁוֹן קָרַחַת וְגַבַּחַת; וּלְעִנְיַן פֵּרוּשׁוֹ וְתַרְגּוּמוֹ זֶהוּ מַשְׁמָעוֹ: קָרַחַת לְשׁוֹן יְשָׁנִים וְגַבַּחַת לְשׁוֹן חֲדָשִׁים — כְּאִלּוּ נִכְתַּב בְּאַחֲרִיתוֹ אוֹ בְקַדְמוּתוֹ — שֶׁהַקָּרַחַת לְשׁוֹן אֲחוֹרַיִם וְגַּבַּחַת לְשׁוֹן פָּנִים, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב וְאִם מִפְּאַת פָּנָיו וְגוֹ', וְהַקָּרַחַת כָּל שֶׁשּׁוֹפֵעַ וְיוֹרֵד מִן הַקָּדְקֹד וּלְאַחֲרָיו, כָּךְ מְפֹרָשׁ בְּתֹ"כֹּ:

י"ג:נ"ו וְאִם֮ רָאָ֣ה הַכֹּהֵן֒ וְהִנֵּה֙ כֵּהָ֣ה הַנֶּ֔גַע אַחֲרֵ֖י הֻכַּבֵּ֣ס אֹת֑וֹ וְקָרַ֣ע אֹת֗וֹ מִן־הַבֶּ֙גֶד֙ א֣וֹ מִן־הָע֔וֹר א֥וֹ מִן־הַשְּׁתִ֖י א֥וֹ מִן־הָעֵֽרֶב׃

13:56 But if the priest sees that the affected part, after it has been washed, is faded, he shall tear it out from the cloth or skin, whether in the warp or in the woof;

13:56 And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be dim after the washing thereof, then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof.

י"ג:נ"ו וְאִם חֲזָא כַהֲנָא וְהָא עָמְיָא מַכְתָּשָׁא בָּתַר דְּחַוָּרוּ יָתֵיהּ וּבְזַע יָתֵיהּ מִן לְבוּשָׁא אוֹ מִן מַשְׁכָּא אוֹ מִן שִׁתְיָא אוֹ מִן עַרְבָא:

וקרע אתו. יִקְרַע מְקוֹם הַנֶּגַע מִן הַבֶּגֶד וְיִשְׂרְפֶנּוּ:

י"ג:נ"ז וְאִם־תֵּרָאֶ֨ה ע֜וֹד בַּ֠בֶּגֶד אֽוֹ־בַשְּׁתִ֤י אֽוֹ־בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ א֣וֹ בְכָל־כְּלִי־ע֔וֹר פֹּרַ֖חַת הִ֑וא בָּאֵ֣שׁ תִּשְׂרְפֶ֔נּוּ אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־בּ֖וֹ הַנָּֽגַע׃

13:57 and if it occurs again in the cloth—whether in warp or in woof—or in any article of skin, it is a wild growth; the affected article shall be consumed in fire.

13:57 And if it appear still in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin, it is breaking out, thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

י"ג:נ"ז וְאִם תִּתְחֲזֵי עוֹד בִּלְבוּשָׁא אוֹ בְשִׁתְיָא אוֹ בְעַרְבָא אוֹ בְכָל מָאן דִּמְשַׁךְ סָגְיָא הִיא בְּנוּרָא תוֹקְדִנֵּיהּ יָת דִּי בֵיהּ מַכְתָּשָׁא:

פרחת הוא. דָּבָר הַחוֹזֵר וְצוֹמֵחַ:

באש תשרפנו. אֶת כָּל הַבֶּגֶד:

י"ג:נ"ח וְהַבֶּ֡גֶד אֽוֹ־הַשְּׁתִ֨י אוֹ־הָעֵ֜רֶב אֽוֹ־כָל־כְּלִ֤י הָעוֹר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תְּכַבֵּ֔ס וְסָ֥ר מֵהֶ֖ם הַנָּ֑גַע וְכֻבַּ֥ס שֵׁנִ֖ית וְטָהֵֽר׃

13:58 If, however, the affection disappears from the cloth—warp or woof—or from any article of skin that has been washed, it shall be washed again, and it shall be clean.

13:58 And the garment, or the warp, or the woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.

י"ג:נ"ח וּלְבוּשָׁא אוֹ שִׁתְיָא אוֹ עַרְבָא אוֹ כָל מָאן דִּמְשַׁךְ דִּי יִתְחַוַּר וְיֶעְדֵּי מִנְּהוֹן מַכְתָּשָׁא וְיִצְטַבַּע תִּנְיָנוּת וְיִדְכֵּי:

וסר מהם הנגע. אִם כְּשֶׁכִּבְּסוּהוּ בַתְּחִלָּה עַל פִּי כֹהֵן סָר מִמֶּנּוּ הַנֶּגַע לְגַמְרֵי.

וכבס שנית. לְשׁוֹן טְבִילָה; תַּרְגּוּם שֶׁל כִּבּוּסִין שֶׁבְּפָרָשָׁה זוֹ לְשׁוֹן לִבּוּן, "וְיִתְחַוַּר", חוּץ מִזֶּה, שֶׁאֵינוֹ לְלִבּוּן אֶלָּא לִטְבֹּל, לְכָךְ תַּרְגּוּמוֹ "וְיִצְטַבַּע", וְכֵן כָּל כִּבּוּסֵי בְגָדִים שֶׁהֵן לִטְבִילָה מְתֻרְגָּמִין וְיִצְטַבַּע:

י"ג:נ"ט זֹ֠את תּוֹרַ֨ת נֶֽגַע־צָרַ֜עַת בֶּ֥גֶד הַצֶּ֣מֶר ׀ א֣וֹ הַפִּשְׁתִּ֗ים א֤וֹ הַשְּׁתִי֙ א֣וֹ הָעֵ֔רֶב א֖וֹ כָּל־כְּלִי־ע֑וֹר לְטַהֲר֖וֹ א֥וֹ לְטַמְּאֽוֹ׃ (פ)

13:59 Such is the procedure for eruptive affections of cloth, woolen or linen, in warp or in woof, or of any article of skin, for pronouncing it clean or unclean.

13:59 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

י"ג:נ"ט דָּא אוֹרַיְתָא דְמַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּ בִּלְבוּשׁ עֲמַר אוֹ כִתָּנָא אוֹ שִׁתְיָא אוֹ עַרְבָא אוֹ כָּל מָאן דִּמְשָׁךְ לְדַכָּיוּתֵיהּ אוֹ לְסַאֲבוּתֵיהּ:
