Leviticus 13:1–13:5
י"ג:א׳ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר׃
13:1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
13:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
י"ג:א׳ וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה וְעִם אַהֲרֹן לְמֵימָר:
י"ג:ב׳ אָדָ֗ם כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֤ה בְעוֹר־בְּשָׂרוֹ֙ שְׂאֵ֤ת אֽוֹ־סַפַּ֙חַת֙ א֣וֹ בַהֶ֔רֶת וְהָיָ֥ה בְעוֹר־בְּשָׂר֖וֹ לְנֶ֣גַע צָרָ֑עַת וְהוּבָא֙ אֶל־אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֔ן א֛וֹ אֶל־אַחַ֥ד מִבָּנָ֖יו הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃
13:2 When a person has on the skin of his body a swelling, a rash, or a discoloration, and it develops into a scaly affection on the skin of his body, it shall be reportedaOr “he shall be brought.” to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons, the priests.
13:2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it become in the skin of his flesh the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests.
י"ג:ב׳ אֱנַשׁ אֲרֵי יְהֵי בִמְשַׁךְ בִּסְרֵיהּ עַמְקָא אוֹ עַדְיָא אוֹ בַהֲרָא וִיהֵי בִמְשַׁךְ בִּסְרֵיהּ לְמַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּ וְיִתֵּתֵי לְוָת אַהֲרֹן כַּהֲנָא אוֹ לְוָת חַד מִבְּנוֹהִי כָּהֲנַיָּא:
י"ג:ג׳ וְרָאָ֣ה הַכֹּהֵ֣ן אֶת־הַנֶּ֣גַע בְּעֽוֹר־הַ֠בָּשָׂר וְשֵׂעָ֨ר בַּנֶּ֜גַע הָפַ֣ךְ ׀ לָבָ֗ן וּמַרְאֵ֤ה הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ עָמֹק֙ מֵע֣וֹר בְּשָׂר֔וֹ נֶ֥גַע צָרַ֖עַת ה֑וּא וְרָאָ֥הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן וְטִמֵּ֥א אֹתֽוֹ׃
13:3 The priest shall examine the affection on the skin of his body: if hair in the affected patch has turned white and the affection appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a leprous affection;bHeb. ṣara‘ath is used for a variety of diseases. Where a human being is declared unclean by reason of ṣara‘ath, the traditional translation “leprosy” has been retained without regard to modern medical terminology. when the priest sees it, he shall pronounce him unclean.
13:3 And the priest shall look upon the plague in the skin of the flesh; and if the hair in the plague be turned white, and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
י"ג:ג׳ וֶיֶחֱזֵי כַהֲנָא יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא בִמְשַׁךְ בִּסְרָא וְשֵׂעָר בְּמַכְתָּשָׁא אִתְהֲפִיךְ לְמֶחֱוָר וּמֶחֱזֵי מַכְתָּשָׁא עַמִּיק בִּמְשַׁךְ בִּסְרֵיהּ מַכְתַּשׁ סְגִירוּתָא הוּא וְיֶחֱזִנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא וִיסָאֵב יָתֵיהּ:
י"ג:ד׳ וְאִם־בַּהֶרֶת֩ לְבָנָ֨ה הִ֜וא בְּע֣וֹר בְּשָׂר֗וֹ וְעָמֹק֙ אֵין־מַרְאֶ֣הָ מִן־הָע֔וֹר וּשְׂעָרָ֖ה לֹא־הָפַ֣ךְ לָבָ֑ן וְהִסְגִּ֧יר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֶת־הַנֶּ֖גַע שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃
13:4 But if it is a white discoloration on the skin of his body which does not appear to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest shall isolate the affected person for seven days.
13:4 And if the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white, then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days.
י"ג:ד׳ וְאִם בַּהֲרָא חַוְּרָא הִיא בִּמְשַׁךְ בִּסְרֵיהּ וְעַמִּיק לֵית מֶחֱזָהָא מִן מַשְׁכָא וּשְׂעָרָא לָא אִתְהֲפִיךְ לְמֶחֱוָר וְיַסְגַּר כַּהֲנָא יָת מַכְתָּשָׁא שִׁבְעָא יוֹמִין:
י"ג:ה׳ וְרָאָ֣הוּ הַכֹּהֵן֮ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי֒ וְהִנֵּ֤ה הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ עָמַ֣ד בְּעֵינָ֔יו לֹֽא־פָשָׂ֥ה הַנֶּ֖גַע בָּע֑וֹר וְהִסְגִּיר֧וֹ הַכֹּהֵ֛ן שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים שֵׁנִֽית׃
13:5 On the seventh day the priest shall examine him, and if the affection has remained unchanged in color and the disease has not spread on the skin, the priest shall isolate him for another seven days.
13:5 And the priest shall look on him the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague stay in its appearance, and the plague be not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up seven days more.
י"ג:ה׳ וְיֶחֱזִנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא בְּיוֹמָא שְׁבִיעָאָה וְהָא מַכְתְּשָׁא קָם כַּד הֲוָה לָא אוֹסֵף מַכְתָּשָׁא בְּמַשְׁכָּא וְיַסְגְּרִנֵּיהּ כַּהֲנָא שִׁבְעָא יוֹמִין תִּנְיָנוּת:
בעניו. בְּמַרְאֵהוּ וּבְשִׁעוּרוֹ הָרִאשׁוֹן:
