Deuteronomy 32:19–32:28
ל"ב:י"ט וַיַּ֥רְא יְהוָ֖ה וַיִּנְאָ֑ץ מִכַּ֥עַס בָּנָ֖יו וּבְנֹתָֽיו׃
32:19 The LORD saw and was vexed And spurned His sons and His daughters.
32:19 And the LORD saw, and spurned, Because of the provoking of His sons and His daughters.
ל"ב:י"ט וּגֱלִי קֳדָם יְיָ וּתְקֵף רָגְזֵיהּ מִדְאַרְגִּיזוּ קָדָמוֹהִי בְּנִין וּבְנָן:
ל"ב:כ׳ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אַסְתִּ֤ירָה פָנַי֙ מֵהֶ֔ם אֶרְאֶ֖ה מָ֣ה אַחֲרִיתָ֑ם כִּ֣י ד֤וֹר תַּהְפֻּכֹת֙ הֵ֔מָּה בָּנִ֖ים לֹא־אֵמֻ֥ן בָּֽם׃
32:20 He said: I will hide My countenance from them, And see how they fare in the end. For they are a treacherous breed, Children with no loyalty in them.
32:20 And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a very froward generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.
ל"ב:כ׳ וַאֲמַר אֱסַלֵק שְׁכִנְתִּי מִנְּהוֹן גֶּלִי קֳדָמַי מָא יְהֵי בְסוֹפֵיהוֹן אֲרֵי דָרָא דְאַשְׁנִיּוּ אִנּוּן בְּנַיָּא דִּלֵית בְּהוֹן הֵימָנוּ:
ל"ב:כ"א הֵ֚ם קִנְא֣וּנִי בְלֹא־אֵ֔ל כִּעֲס֖וּנִי בְּהַבְלֵיהֶ֑ם וַאֲנִי֙ אַקְנִיאֵ֣ם בְּלֹא־עָ֔ם בְּג֥וֹי נָבָ֖ל אַכְעִיסֵֽם׃
32:21 They incensed Me with no-gods, Vexed Me with their futilities;gI.e., idols. I’ll incense them with a no-folk, Vex them with a nation of fools.
32:21 They have roused Me to jealousy with a no-god; They have provoked Me with their vanities; And I will rouse them to jealousy with a no-people; I will provoke them with a vile nation.
ל"ב:כ"א אִנּוּן אַקְנִיאוּ קֳדָמַי בְּלָא דַחֲלָא אַרְגִּיזוּ קֳדָמַי בְּפָלְחַן טַעֲוָן וַאֲנָא אַקְנִנּוּן בְּלָא עַם בְּעַמָּא טַפְשָׁא אַרְגֵּזִנּוּן:
ל"ב:כ"ב כִּי־אֵשׁ֙ קָדְחָ֣ה בְאַפִּ֔י וַתִּיקַ֖ד עַד־שְׁא֣וֹל תַּחְתִּ֑ית וַתֹּ֤אכַל אֶ֙רֶץ֙ וִֽיבֻלָ֔הּ וַתְּלַהֵ֖ט מוֹסְדֵ֥י הָרִֽים׃
32:22 For a fire has flared in My wrath And burned to the bottom of Sheol, Has consumed the earth and its increase, Eaten down to the base of the hills.
32:22 For a fire is kindled in My nostril, And burneth unto the depths of the nether-world, And devoureth the earth with her produce, And setteth ablaze the foundations of the mountains.
ל"ב:כ"ב אֲרֵי קִדּוּם תַּקִּיף כְּאֶשָּׁא נְפַק מִקֳּדָמַי בִּרְגַז וְשֵׁצֵי עַד שְׁאוֹל אֲרָעִית וְאָסֵף אַרְעָא וַעֲלַלְתַּהּ וְשֵׁצִיַּת עַד סְיָפֵי טוּרַיָּא:
ל"ב:כ"ג אַסְפֶּ֥ה עָלֵ֖ימוֹ רָע֑וֹת חִצַּ֖י אֲכַלֶּה־בָּֽם׃
32:23 I will sweepeMeaning of Heb. uncertain. misfortunes on them, Use up My arrows on them:
32:23 I will heap evils upon them; I will spend Mine arrows upon them;
ל"ב:כ"ג אָסֵף עֲלֵיהוֹן בִּישִׁין מַכְתָּשַׁי אֱשֵׁצֵי בְהוֹן:
ל"ב:כ"ד מְזֵ֥י רָעָ֛ב וּלְחֻ֥מֵי רֶ֖שֶׁף וְקֶ֣טֶב מְרִירִ֑י וְשֶׁן־בְּהֵמוֹת֙ אֲשַׁלַּח־בָּ֔ם עִם־חֲמַ֖ת זֹחֲלֵ֥י עָפָֽר׃
32:24 Wasting famine, ravaging plague, Deadly pestilence, and fanged beasts Will I let loose against them, With venomous creepers in dust.
32:24 The wasting of hunger, and the devouring of the fiery bolt, And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, With the venom of crawling things of the dust.
ל"ב:כ"ד נִפִיחֵי כָפָן וַאֲכוּלֵי עוּף וּכְתִישֵׁי רוּחִין בִּישָׁן וְשֵׁן חֵיוַת בָּרָא אֱגָרֵי בְּהוֹן עִם חֲמַת תַּנִּינַיָּא דְּזָחֲלִין בְּעַפְרָא:
ל"ב:כ"ה מִחוּץ֙ תְּשַׁכֶּל־חֶ֔רֶב וּמֵחֲדָרִ֖ים אֵימָ֑ה גַּם־בָּחוּר֙ גַּם־בְּתוּלָ֔ה יוֹנֵ֖ק עִם־אִ֥ישׁ שֵׂיבָֽה׃
32:25 The sword shall deal death without, As shall the terror within, To youth and maiden alike, The suckling as well as the aged.
32:25 Without shall the sword bereave, And in the chambers terror; Slaying both young man and virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.
ל"ב:כ"ה מִבָּרָא תְּתַכֵּל חַרְבָּא וּמִתְּוָנַיָּא חַרְגַּת מוֹתָא אַף עוּלֵמֵיהוֹן אַף עוּלֵמָתְהוֹן יָנְקֵיהוֹן עִם אֱנַשׁ סָבֵיהוֹן:
ל"ב:כ"ו אָמַ֖רְתִּי אַפְאֵיהֶ֑ם אַשְׁבִּ֥יתָה מֵאֱנ֖וֹשׁ זִכְרָֽם׃
32:26 hLit. “I said, I will reduce…”; meaning of Heb. ’aph’ehem uncertain.I might have reduced them to naught,-h Made their memory cease among men,
32:26 I thought I would make an end of them, I would make their memory cease from among men;
ל"ב:כ"ו אֲמָרִית אֵחוּל רָגְזִי עֲלֵיהוֹן וֶאֱשֵׁצִנּוּן אֱבַטַּל מִבְּנֵי אֲנָשָׁא דּוּכְרָנֵיהוֹן:
ל"ב:כ"ז לוּלֵ֗י כַּ֤עַס אוֹיֵב֙ אָג֔וּר פֶּֽן־יְנַכְּר֖וּ צָרֵ֑ימוֹ פֶּן־יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ יָדֵ֣ינוּ רָ֔מָה וְלֹ֥א יְהוָ֖ה פָּעַ֥ל כָּל־זֹֽאת׃
32:27 But for fear of the taunts of the foe, Their enemies who might misjudge And say, “Our own hand has prevailed; None of this was wrought by the LORD!”
32:27 Were it not that I dreaded the enemy’s provocation, Lest their adversaries should misdeem, Lest they should say: Our hand is exalted, And not the LORD hath wrought all this.’
ל"ב:כ"ז אִלּוּלָפוֹן רָגְזָא דְסָנְאָה כְּנִישׁ דִּילְמָא יִתְרַבְרַב בְּעֵל דְּבָבָא דִּילְמָא יֵימְרוּן יְדָנָא תְקִיפַת לָנָא וְלָא מִן קֳדָם יְיָ הֲוַת כָּל דָּא:
ל"ב:כ"ח כִּי־ג֛וֹי אֹבַ֥ד עֵצ֖וֹת הֵ֑מָּה וְאֵ֥ין בָּהֶ֖ם תְּבוּנָֽה׃
32:28 iHere, apparently, Moses is the speaker; God resumes in v. 32.For they are a folk void of sense, Lacking in all discernment.
32:28 For they are a nation void of counsel, And there is no understanding in them.
ל"ב:כ"ח אֲרֵי עַם מְאַבְּדֵי עֵצָה אִנּוּן וְלֵית בְּהוֹן סוּכְלְתָנוּ:
