עַשֵּׂ֣ר תְּעַשֵּׂ֔ר אֵ֖ת כָּל־תְּבוּאַ֣ת זַרְעֶ֑ךָ הַיֹּצֵ֥א הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה שָׁנָ֥ה שָׁנָֽה׃
14:22
You shall set aside every year a tenth part of all the yield of your sowing that is brought from the field.

Thou shalt surely tithe all the increase of thy seed, that which is brought forth in the field year by year.
י"ד:כ"ב
עַשְּׂרָא תְעַשֵּׂר יָת כָּל עֲלָלַת זַרְעָךְ דְּיִפּוֹק חַקְלָא שַׁתָּא בְשַׁתָּא:
לא תבשל גדי … עשר תעשר. מָה עִנְיַן זֶה אֵצֶל זֶה? אָמַר לָהֶם הַקָּבָּ"ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל: אַל תִּגְרְמוּ לִי לְבַשֵּׁל גְּדָיִים שֶׁל תְּבוּאָה עַד שֶׁהֵן בִּמְעֵי אִמּוֹתֵיהֶן, שֶׁאִם אֵין אַתֶּם מְעַשְּׂרִים מַעַשְׂרוֹת כָּרָאוּי כְּשֶׁהוּא סָמוּךְ לְהִתְבַּשֵּׁל אֲנִי מוֹצִיא רוּחַ קָדִים וְהִיא מְשַׁדַּפְתָּן, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (מלכים ב י"ט) "וּשְׁדֵפָה לִפְנֵי קָמָה", וְכֵן לְעִנְיַן בִּכּוּרִים (פסיק' ר'; תנחומא):
שנה שנה. מִכָּאן שֶׁאֵין מְעַשְּׂרִין מִן הֶחָדָשׁ עַל הַיָּשָׁן (ספרי):
י"ד:כ"ג
וְאָכַלְתָּ֞ לִפְנֵ֣י ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ בַּמָּק֣וֹם אֲשֶׁר־יִבְחַר֮ לְשַׁכֵּ֣ן שְׁמ֣וֹ שָׁם֒ מַעְשַׂ֤ר דְּגָֽנְךָ֙ תִּֽירֹשְׁךָ֣ וְיִצְהָרֶ֔ךָ וּבְכֹרֹ֥ת בְּקָרְךָ֖ וְצֹאנֶ֑ךָ לְמַ֣עַן תִּלְמַ֗ד לְיִרְאָ֛ה אֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃
14:23
You shall consume the tithes of your new grain and wine and oil, and the firstlings of your herds and flocks, in the presence of the LORD your God, in the place where He will choose to establish His name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God forever.

And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which He shall choose to cause His name to dwell there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

וְתֵיכוּל קֳדָם יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ בְּאַתְרָא דִּי יִתִּרְעֵי לְאַשְׁרָאָה שְׁכִנְתֵּיהּ תַּמָּן מַעְשַׂר עִבוּרָךְ חַמְרָךְ וּמִשְׁחָךְ וּבְכוֹרֵי תוֹרָךְ וְעָנָךְ בְּדִיל דְּתֵילַף לְמִדְחַל קֳדָם יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ כָּל יוֹמַיָּא:
ואכלת וגו'. זֶה מַעֲשֵׂר שֵׁנִי. שֶׁכְּבָר לִמְּדָנוּ לִתֵּן מַעֲשֵׂר רִאשׁוֹן לַלְוִיִם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר "כִּי תִקְחוּ מֵאֵת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְגוֹ'" (במדבר י"ח) וְנָתַן לָהֶם רְשׁוּת לְאָכְלוֹ בְּכָל מָקוֹם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר "וַאֲכַלְתֶּם אֹתוֹ בְּכָל מָקוֹם" (שם י"ח), עַל כָּרְחֲךָ זֶה מַעֲשֵׂר אַחֵר הוּא:
י"ד:כ"ד
וְכִֽי־יִרְבֶּ֨ה מִמְּךָ֜ הַדֶּ֗רֶךְ כִּ֣י לֹ֣א תוּכַ֘ל שְׂאֵתוֹ֒ כִּֽי־יִרְחַ֤ק מִמְּךָ֙ הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר יִבְחַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לָשׂ֥וּם שְׁמ֖וֹ שָׁ֑ם כִּ֥י יְבָרֶכְךָ֖ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃
14:24
Should the distance be too great for you, should you be unable to transport them, because the place where the LORD your God has chosen to establish His name is far from you and because the LORD your God has blessed you,bI.e., with abundant crops.
14:24
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set His name there, when the LORD thy God shall bless thee;

וַאֲרֵי יִסְגֵּי מִנָּךְ אָרְחָא אֲרֵי לָא תִכּוּל לְמִטְּלֵיהּ אֲרֵי יִתְרָחַק מִנָּךְ אַתְרָא דִּי יִתִּרְעֵי יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ לְאַשְׁרָאָה שְׁכִנְתֵּיהּ תַּמָּן אֲרֵי יְבָרֵכִנָּךְ יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ:
כי יברכך. שֶׁתְּהֵא הַתְּבוּאָה מְרֻבָּה לָשֵׂאת:

וְנָתַתָּ֖ה בַּכָּ֑סֶף וְצַרְתָּ֤ הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ בְּיָ֣דְךָ֔ וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֙ אֶל־הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְחַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בּֽוֹ׃
14:25
you may convert them into money. Wrap up the money and take it with you to the place that the LORD your God has chosen,

then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose.

וְתִתֵּן בְּכַסְפָּא וּתְצוּר כַּסְפָּא בִּידָךְ וּתְהַךְ לְאַתְרָא דִּי יִתִּרְעֵי יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ בֵּיהּ:
י"ד:כ"ו
וְנָתַתָּ֣ה הַכֶּ֡סֶף בְּכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁר־תְּאַוֶּ֨ה נַפְשְׁךָ֜ בַּבָּקָ֣ר וּבַצֹּ֗אן וּבַיַּ֙יִן֙ וּבַשֵּׁכָ֔ר וּבְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּֽשְׁאָלְךָ֖ נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וְאָכַ֣לְתָּ שָּׁ֗ם לִפְנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ וְשָׂמַחְתָּ֖ אַתָּ֥ה וּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃
14:26
and spend the money on anything you want—cattle, sheep, wine, or other intoxicant, or anything you may desire. And you shall feast there, in the presence of the LORD your God, and rejoice with your household.
14:26
And thou shalt bestow the money for whatsoever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou and thy household.
י"ד:כ"ו
וְתִתֵּן כַּסְפָּא בְּכֹל דִּי יִתִּרְעֵי נַפְשָׁךְ בְּתוֹרֵי וּבְעָנָא וּבַחֲמַר חֲדַת וְעַתִּיק וּבְכֹל דִּי תִשְׁאֲלִנָּךְ נַפְשָׁךְ וְתֵיכוּל תַּמָּן קֳדָם יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ וְתֶחֱדֵי אַתְּ וֶאֱנַשׁ בֵּיתָךְ:
בכל אשר תאוה נפשך – כְּלָל:
בבקר ובצאן וביין ובשכר – פְּרָט:
ובכל אשר תשאלך נפשך – חָזַר וְכָלַל, מַה הַפְּרָט מְפֹרָשׁ וְלַד וַלְדוֹת הָאָרֶץ וְרָאוּי לְמַאֲכַל אָדָם וְכוּ' (עירובין כ"ז):
י"ד:כ"ז
וְהַלֵּוִ֥י אֲשֶׁר־בִּשְׁעָרֶ֖יךָ לֹ֣א תַֽעַזְבֶ֑נּוּ כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין ל֛וֹ חֵ֥לֶק וְנַחֲלָ֖ה עִמָּֽךְ׃ (ס)
14:27
But do not neglect the Levite in your community, for he has no hereditary portion as you have.

And the Levite that is within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.
י"ד:כ"ז
וְלֵוָאָה דִי בְקִרְוָיךְ לָא תִשְׁבְּקִנֵּיהּ אֲרֵי לֵית לֵיהּ חֳלָק וְאַחֲסָנָא עִמָּךְ:
והלוי, לא תעזבנו. מִלִּתֵּן לוֹ מַעֲשֵׂר רִאשׁוֹן:
כי אין לו חלק ונחלה עמך. יָצְאוּ לֶקֶט שִׁכְחָה וּפֵאָה וְהֶפְקֵר, שֶׁאַף הוּא יֵשׁ לוֹ חֵלֶק עִמְּךָ בָּהֶן כָּמוֹךָ, וְאֵינָן חַיָּבִין בְּמַעֲשֵׂר:
י"ד:כ"ח
מִקְצֵ֣ה ׀ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֗ים תּוֹצִיא֙ אֶת־כָּל־מַעְשַׂר֙ תְּבוּאָ֣תְךָ֔ בַּשָּׁנָ֖ה הַהִ֑וא וְהִנַּחְתָּ֖ בִּשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃
14:28
cLit. “After a period of three years”; cf. Deut. 26.12.Every third year-c you shall bring out the full tithe of your yield of that year, but leave it within your settlements.

At the end of every three years, even in the same year, thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase, and shall lay it up within thy gates.

מִסּוֹף תְּלַת שְׁנִין תַּפֵּק יָת כָּל מַעְשַׂר עֲלַלְתָּךְ בְּשַׁתָּא הַהִיא וְתַצְנַע בְּקִרְוָיךְ:
מקצה שלש שנים. בָּא וְלִמֵּד שֶׁאִם הִשְׁהָה מַעַשְׂרוֹתָיו שֶׁל שָׁנָה רִאשׁוֹנָה וּשְׁנִיָּה לִשְׁמִטָּה, שֶׁיְּבַעֲרֵם מִן הַבַּיִת בַּשְּׁלִישִׁית:
י"ד:כ"ט
וּבָ֣א הַלֵּוִ֡י כִּ֣י אֵֽין־לוֹ֩ חֵ֨לֶק וְנַחֲלָ֜ה עִמָּ֗ךְ וְ֠הַגֵּר וְהַיָּת֤וֹם וְהָֽאַלְמָנָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּשְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ וְאָכְל֖וּ וְשָׂבֵ֑עוּ לְמַ֤עַן יְבָרֶכְךָ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ בְּכָל־מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶֽׂה׃ (ס)
14:29
Then the Levite, who has no hereditary portion as you have, and the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow in your settlements shall come and eat their fill, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the enterprises you undertake.

And the Levite, because he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.

וְיֵיתֵי לֵוָאָה אֲרֵי לֵית לֵיהּ חֳלָק וְאַחֲסָנָא עִמָּךְ וְגִיּוֹרָא וְיִתַּמָּא וְאַרְמְלָא דִּי בְקִרְוָיךְ וְיֵיכְלוּן וְיִשְׂבְּעוּן בְּדִיל דִּי יְבָרֵכִנָּךְ יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ בְּכָל עוֹבָדֵי יְדָךְ דִּי תַעְבֵּד:
ובא הלוי. וְיִטֹּל מַעֲשֵׂר רִאשׁוֹן:
והגר והיתום. וְיִטְּלוּ מַעֲשֵׂר שֵׁנִי, שֶׁהוּא שֶׁל עָנִי שֶׁל שָׁנָה זוֹ, וְלֹא תֹאכְלֶנּוּ אַתָּה בִּירוּשָׁלַיִם כְּדֶרֶךְ שֶׁנִּזְקַקְתָּ לֶאֱכֹל מַעֲשֵׂר שֵׁנִי שֶׁל שְׁתֵּי שָׁנִים:
ואכלו ושבעו. תֵּן לָהֶם כְּדֵי שָׂבְעָן, מִכָּאן אָמְרוּ אֵין פּוֹחֲתִין לֶעָנִי בַּגֹּרֶן וְכוּ' (ספרי קי). וְאַתָּה הוֹלֵךְ לִירוּשָׁלַיִם בַּמַּעֲשֵׂר שֶׁל שָׁנָה רִאשׁוֹנָה וּשְׁנִיָּה שֶׁהִשְׁהֵיתָ, וּמִתְוַדֶּה "בִּעַרְתִּי הַקֹּדֶשׁ מִן הַבַּיִת" כְּמוֹ שֶׁמְּפֹרָשׁ בְּכִי תְכַלֶּה לַעְשֵׂר (דברים כ"ו):
