כ"ב:כ"ז אֱלֹהִ֖ים לֹ֣א תְקַלֵּ֑ל וְנָשִׂ֥יא בְעַמְּךָ֖ לֹ֥א תָאֹֽר׃
22:27 You shall not revile God, nor put a curse upon a chieftain among your people.
22:27 Thou shalt not revile God, nor curse a ruler of thy people.
כ"ב:כ"ז דַיָנָא לָא תְקִיל וְרַבָּא בְעַמָךְ לָא תְלוּט:
כ"ב:כ"ח מְלֵאָתְךָ֥ וְדִמְעֲךָ֖ לֹ֣א תְאַחֵ֑ר בְּכ֥וֹר בָּנֶ֖יךָ תִּתֶּן־לִּֽי׃
22:28 You shall not iMeaning of Heb. uncertain.put off the skimming of the first yield of your vats.-i You shall give Me the first-born among your sons.
22:28 Thou shalt not delay to offer of the fulness of thy harvest, and of the outflow of thy presses. The first-born of thy sons shalt thou give unto Me.
כ"ב:כ"ח בִּכּוּרָךְ וְדִמְעָךְ לָא תְאַחֵר בּוּכְרָא דִבְנָיךְ תַּפְרֵשׁ קֳדָמָי:
כ"ב:כ"ט כֵּֽן־תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה לְשֹׁרְךָ֖ לְצֹאנֶ֑ךָ שִׁבְעַ֤ת יָמִים֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה עִם־אִמּ֔וֹ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֖י תִּתְּנוֹ־לִֽי׃
22:29 You shall do the same with your cattle and your flocks: seven days itjI.e., the male first-born. shall remain with its mother; on the eighth day you shall give it to Me.
22:29 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep; seven days it shall be with its dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it Me.
כ"ב:כ"ט כֵּן תַּעְבֵּד לְתוֹרָךְ לְעָנָךְ שִׁבְעָא יוֹמִין יְהֵי עִם אִמֵהּ בְּיוֹמָא תְמִינָאָה תִּפְרְשִׁנֵהּ קֳדָמָי:
כ"ב:ל׳ וְאַנְשֵׁי־קֹ֖דֶשׁ תִּהְי֣וּן לִ֑י וּבָשָׂ֨ר בַּשָּׂדֶ֤ה טְרֵפָה֙ לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ לַכֶּ֖לֶב תַּשְׁלִכ֥וּן אֹתֽוֹ׃ (ס)
22:30 You shall be holy people to Me: you must not eat flesh torn by beasts in the field; you shall cast it to the dogs.
22:30 And ye shall be holy men unto Me; therefore ye shall not eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
כ"ב:ל׳ וֶאֱנָשִׁין קַדִישִׁין תְּהוֹן קֳדָמָי וּבְשַׂר תְּלִישׁ מִן חֵיוָא חַיְתָא לָא תֵיכְלוּן לְכַלְבָּא תִּרְמוּן יָתֵהּ:
כ"ג:א׳ לֹ֥א תִשָּׂ֖א שֵׁ֣מַע שָׁ֑וְא אַל־תָּ֤שֶׁת יָֽדְךָ֙ עִם־רָשָׁ֔ע לִהְיֹ֖ת עֵ֥ד חָמָֽס׃ (ס)
23:1 You must not carry false rumors; you shall not join hands with the guilty to act as a malicious witness:
23:1 Thou shalt not utter a false report; put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
כ"ג:א׳ לָא תְקַבֵּל שְׁמַע דִשְׁקָר לָא תְשַׁוִי יְדָךְ עִם חַיָבָא לְמֶהֱוֵי לֵהּ סָהִיד שְׁקָר:
כ"ג:ב׳ לֹֽא־תִהְיֶ֥ה אַחֲרֵֽי־רַבִּ֖ים לְרָעֹ֑ת וְלֹא־תַעֲנֶ֣ה עַל־רִ֗ב לִנְטֹ֛ת אַחֲרֵ֥י רַבִּ֖ים לְהַטֹּֽת׃
23:2 You shall neither side with the mightyaOthers “multitude.” to do wrong—you shall not give perverse testimony in a dispute so as to pervert it in favor of the mighty-a—
23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou bear witness in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to pervert justice;
כ"ג:ב׳ לָא תְהֵי בָּתַר סַגִיאִין לְאַבְאָשָׁא וְלָא תִתְמְנַע מִלְאַלָפָא מָא דִבְעֵינָךְ עַל דִינָא בָּתַר סַגִיאֵי שְׁלַם דִינָא:
וַאֲנִי אוֹמֵר לְיַשְּׁבוֹ עַל אָפְנָיו כִּפְשׁוּטוֹ כָךְ פִּתְרוֹנוֹ: לא תהיה אחרי רבים לרעת. אִם רָאִיתָ רְשָׁעִים מַטִּין מִשְׁפָּט, לֹא תֹאמַר, הוֹאִיל וְרַבִּים הֵם הִנְנִי נוֹטֶה אַחֲרֵיהֶם:
כ"ג:ג׳ וְדָ֕ל לֹ֥א תֶהְדַּ֖ר בְּרִיבֽוֹ׃ (ס)
23:3 nor shall you show deference to a poor man in his dispute.
23:3 neither shalt thou favour a poor man in his cause.
כ"ג:ג׳ וְעַל מִסְכֵּינָא לָא תְרַחֵם בְּדִינֵהּ:
כ"ג:ד׳ כִּ֣י תִפְגַּ֞ע שׁ֧וֹר אֹֽיִבְךָ֛ א֥וֹ חֲמֹר֖וֹ תֹּעֶ֑ה הָשֵׁ֥ב תְּשִׁיבֶ֖נּוּ לֽוֹ׃ (ס)
23:4 When you encounter your enemy’s ox or ass wandering, you must take it back to him.
23:4 If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
כ"ג:ד׳ אֲרֵי תִפְגַע תּוֹרָא דְסָנְאָךְ אוֹ חֲמָרֵהּ דְטָעֵי אָתָבָא תְּתִיבִנֵהּ לֵהּ:
כ"ג:ה׳ כִּֽי־תִרְאֶ֞ה חֲמ֣וֹר שֹׂנַאֲךָ֗ רֹבֵץ֙ תַּ֣חַת מַשָּׂא֔וֹ וְחָדַלְתָּ֖ מֵעֲזֹ֣ב ל֑וֹ עָזֹ֥ב תַּעֲזֹ֖ב עִמּֽוֹ׃ (ס)
23:5 When you see the ass of your enemy lying under its burden and would refrain from raisingbFor this use of the verb ‘zb, cf. Neh. 3.8, 34. For the whole verse see Deut. 22.4. it, you must nevertheless raise it with him.
23:5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under its burden, thou shalt forbear to pass by him; thou shalt surely release it with him.
כ"ג:ה׳ אֲרֵי תֶחֱזֵי חֲמָרָא דְסָנְאָךְ רְבִיעַ תְּחוֹת טוֹעֲנֵיהּ וְתִתִּמְנַע מִלְמִשְׁבַּק לֵהּ מִשְׁבַּק תִּשְׁבּוֹק מָא דִבְלִבָּךְ עֲלוֹהִי וּתְפָרֵק עִמֵהּ:
