וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

The LORD said to Moses:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
ל"א:כ"ה
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה לְמֵימָר:
ל"א:כ"ו
שָׂ֗א אֵ֣ת רֹ֤אשׁ מַלְק֙וֹחַ֙ הַשְּׁבִ֔י בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְאֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְרָאשֵׁ֖י אֲב֥וֹת הָעֵדָֽה׃
31:26
“You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community take an inventory of the booty that was captured, man and beast,
31:26
’Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’houses of the congregation;
ל"א:כ"ו
קַבֵּל יָת חוּשְׁבַּן דַּבְרַת שַׁבְיָא בֶּאֱנָשָׁא וּבִבְעִירָא אַתְּ וְאֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא וְרֵישֵׁי אֲבָהַת כְּנִשְׁתָּא:
שא את ראש. קַח אֶת הַחֶשְׁבּוֹן:
ל"א:כ"ז
וְחָצִ֙יתָ֙ אֶת־הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ בֵּ֚ין תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים לַצָּבָ֑א וּבֵ֖ין כָּל־הָעֵדָֽה׃
31:27
and divide the booty equally between the combatants who engaged in the campaign and the rest of the community.

and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war, that went out to battle, and all the congregation;

וּתְפַלֵּג יָת דְּבַרְתָּא בֵּין גַּבְרֵי מְגִיחֵי קְרָבָא דִּנְפָקוּ לְחֵילָא וּבֵין כָּל כְּנִשְׁתָּא:
וחצית את המלקוח בין תפשי המלחמה וגו'. חֶצְיוֹ לָאֵלּוּ וְחֶצְיוֹ לָאֵלּוּ:

וַהֲרֵמֹתָ֨ מֶ֜כֶס לַֽיהוָ֗ה מֵאֵ֞ת אַנְשֵׁ֤י הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים לַצָּבָ֔א אֶחָ֣ד נֶ֔פֶשׁ מֵחֲמֵ֖שׁ הַמֵּא֑וֹת מִן־הָאָדָם֙ וּמִן־הַבָּקָ֔ר וּמִן־הַחֲמֹרִ֖ים וּמִן־הַצֹּֽאן׃

You shall exact a levy for the LORD: in the case of the warriors who engaged in the campaign, one item in five hundred, of persons, oxen, asses, and sheep,

and levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war that went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the flocks;

וְתַפְרֵשׁ נְסִיבָא קֳדָם יְיָ מִן גַּבְרֵי מְגִיחֵי קְרָבָא דִּנְפָקוּ לְחֵילָא חַד נַפְשָׁא מֵחֲמֵשׁ מְאָה מִן אֱנָשָׁא וּמִן תּוֹרֵי וּמִן חֲמָרֵי וּמִן עָנָא:
ל"א:כ"ט
מִמַּֽחֲצִיתָ֖ם תִּקָּ֑חוּ וְנָתַתָּ֛ה לְאֶלְעָזָ֥ר הַכֹּהֵ֖ן תְּרוּמַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃
31:29
shall be taken from their half-share and given to Eleazar the priest as a contribution to the LORD;
31:29
take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, as a portion set apart for the LORD.

מִפַּלְגּוּתְהוֹן תִּסְּבוּן וְתִתֵּן לְאֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא אַפְרָשׁוּתָא קֳדָם יְיָ:
ל"א:ל׳
וּמִמַּחֲצִ֨ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל תִּקַּ֣ח ׀ אֶחָ֣ד ׀ אָחֻ֣ז מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים מִן־הָאָדָ֧ם מִן־הַבָּקָ֛ר מִן־הַחֲמֹרִ֥ים וּמִן־הַצֹּ֖אן מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֤ה אֹתָם֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם שֹׁמְרֵ֕י מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת מִשְׁכַּ֥ן יְהוָֽה׃
31:30
and from the half-share of the other Israelites you shall withhold one in every fifty human beings as well as cattle, asses, and sheep—all the animals—and give them to the Levites, who attend to the duties of the LORD’s Tabernacle.”

And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, even of all the cattle, and give them unto the Levites, that keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.’

וּמִפַּלְגּוּת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּסַּב חַד דְּאִתַּחַד מִן חַמְשִׁין מִן אֱנָשָׁא מִן תּוֹרֵי מִן חֲמָרֵי וּמִן עָנָא מִכָּל בְּעִירָא וְתִתֵּן יָתְהוֹן לְלֵוָאֵי נָטְרֵי מַטְּרַת מַשְׁכְּנָא דַיְיָ:

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֔ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר הַכֹּהֵ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.

וַעֲבַד משֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא כְּמָא דִי פַּקִּיד יְיָ יָת משֶׁה:
ל"א:ל"ב
וַיְהִי֙ הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ יֶ֣תֶר הַבָּ֔ז אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּזְז֖וּ עַ֣ם הַצָּבָ֑א צֹ֗אן שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֛לֶף וְשִׁבְעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵֽשֶׁת־אֲלָפִֽים׃
31:32
The amount of booty, other than the spoil that the troops had plundered, came to 675,000 sheep,

Now the prey, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

וַהֲוָה דְּבַרְתָּא שְׁאָר בִּזָּא דִּי בְזוֹ עַמָּא דִי נְפָקוּ לְחֵילָא עָנָא שִׁית מְאָה וְשַׁבְעִין וְחַמְשָׁא אַלְפִין:
ויהי המלקוח יתר הבז. לְפִי שֶׁלֹּא נִצְטַוּוּ לְהָרִים מֶכֶס מִן הַמִּטַּלְטְלִין אֶלָּא מִן הַמַּלְקוֹחַ, כָּתַב אֶת הַלָּשׁוֹן הַזֶּה ויהי המלקוח, שֶׁבָּא לִכְלַל חֲלֻקָּה וְלִכְלַל מֶכֶס, שֶׁהָיָה עוֹדֵף עַל בַּז הַמִּטַּלְטְלִין אשר בזזו עם הצבא איש לו וְלֹא בָא לִכְלַל חֲלֻקָּה — מִסְפַּר הַצֹּאן וְגוֹ':

וּבָקָ֕ר שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

72,000 head of cattle,

וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

61,000 asses,

and threescore and one thousand asses,

וַחֲמָרֵי שִׁתִּין וְחַד אַלְפִין:
ל"א:ל"ה
וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם מִן־הַ֨נָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר כָּל־נֶ֕פֶשׁ שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃
31:35
and a total of 32,000 human beings, namely, the women who had not had carnal relations.

and thirty and two thousand persons in all, of the women that had not known man by lying with him.

וְנַפְשָׁא דֶאֱנָשָׁא מִן נְשַׁיָּא דִּי לָא יְדָעָא מִשְׁכְּבֵי דְכוּרָא כָּל נַפְשָׁתָא תְּלָתִין וּתְרֵין אַלְפִין:
ל"א:ל"ו
וַתְּהִי֙ הַֽמֶּחֱצָ֔ה חֵ֕לֶק הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים בַּצָּבָ֑א מִסְפַּ֣ר הַצֹּ֗אן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֙לֶף֙ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אֶ֔לֶף וְשִׁבְעַ֥ת אֲלָפִ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
31:36
Thus, the half-share of those who had engaged in the campaign [was as follows]: The number of sheep was 337,500,

And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep.

וַהֲוַת פַּלְגּוּתָא חוּלַק גֻּבְרַיָּא דִּי נְפָקוּ לְחֵילָא מִנְיַן עָנָא תְּלַת מְאָה וּתְלָתִין וּשְׁבַע אַלְפִין וַחֲמֵשׁ מְאָה:
ל"א:ל"ז
וַיְהִ֛י הַמֶּ֥כֶס לַֽיהוָ֖ה מִן־הַצֹּ֑אן שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃
31:37
and the LORD’s levy from the sheep was 675;
31:37
And the LORD’S tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.

וַהֲוָה נְסִיבָא קֳדָם יְיָ מִן עָנָא שִׁית מְאָה שַׁבְעִין וְחָמֵשׁ:
ל"א:ל"ח
וְהַ֨בָּקָ֔ר שִׁשָּׁ֥ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַיהוָ֖ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃
31:38
the cattle came to 36,000, from which the LORD’s levy was 72;
31:38
And the beeves were thirty and six thousand, of which the LORD’S tribute was threescore and twelve.

וְתוֹרֵי תְּלָתִין וְשִׁתָּא אַלְפִין וּנְסִיבְהוֹן קֳדָם יְיָ שַׁבְעִין וּתְרֵין:
ל"א:ל"ט
וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַֽיהוָ֖ה אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּֽׁים׃
31:39
the asses came to 30,500, from which the LORD’s levy was 61.
31:39
And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred, of which the LORD’S tribute was threescore and one.

וַחֲמָרֵי תְּלָתִין אַלְפִין וַחֲמֵשׁ מְאָה וּנְסִיבְהוֹן קֳדָם יְיָ שִׁתִּין וְחָד:
ל"א:מ׳
וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם שִׁשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָם֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים נָֽפֶשׁ׃
31:40
And the number of human beings was 16,000, from which the LORD’s levy was 32.

And the persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the LORD’S tribute was thirty and two persons.

וְנַפְשָׁא דֶאֱנָשָׁא שִׁתָּא עֲשַׂר אַלְפִין וּנְסִיבְהוֹן קֳדָם יְיָ תְּלָתִין וּתְרֵין נַפְשִׁין:

וַיִּתֵּ֣ן מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֶת־מֶ֙כֶס֙ תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה לְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר הַכֹּהֵ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃
31:41
Moses gave the contributions levied for the LORD to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

And Moses gave the tribute, which was set apart for the LORD, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וִיהַב משֶׁה יָת נְסִיב אַפְרָשׁוּתָא קֳדָם יְיָ לְאֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא כְּמָא דִי פַּקִּיד יְיָ יָת משֶׁה:
